I went to Catholic school, we were taught social justice as well. If you plan to have a society that is peaceful and prosperous, you must do unto others...and love your neighbor as yourself. These are the teachings of Christianity that I still practice.

No, the religious right is not concerned about those, or if they are it is a secondary concern. They are far more conerned with keeping gay marriage illegal & unrecognized. They are much more concerned with banning porn. They are much more concerned with putting nativity scenes on courthouse lawns.

They want THEIR religious beliefs to be reflected in our laws.

i went to a private religious school (christian science) through the 7th grade and then switched to public school

i learned that love is the answer and how few practice that

oh, and that there is no such thing as original sin. sin is hurting others needlessly

You don't accomplish this by having the government steal people's money.

You can't have equality and at the same time freedom.

When everybody's equal, there is no opportunity to excel. When everybody must produce equal results, nobody else can achieve and everybody else must regress.

Social justice is the polar opposite of liberty. Social justice requires all things to remain equal and all people to be same except the elite ruling class.

No...social.justice does not require everything to be equal. Social Justice is "a fair day's pay for a fair day's work". A fair day's work in our country is 8 hours long X 5 days/week, a fair day's pay is enough that one can....if they go to work those 5 days/week....that they have enough to live in their own country at a reasonably comfortable level.

It's the right wing meme machine that vomits out the idiotic idea that doctors and ditch diggers should be paid equally.

Social justice also says that kids should have equal access to decent public schools; you can compare a public school in a wealthy area like Orinda, CA to one in a poor area like downtown Oakland and know that doesn't happen. Without giving kids access to roughly the same education, it's very hard to expect that they will have equal access to good quality jobs later.

Labor unions are another example of social justice.

The bill of rights is the rights that we all have and are indisputable...be it government trying to deny them or private citizens with the power to do so.
