Are Cons Coming to Terms With Racism in American Policing?

Have you ever considered that unloading 4 bullets into a driver reaching for his wallet is perhaps a bit more than "annoying?"

I ain't no race baiter. I actually hate it, because it waters down the real problems. But when a guy gets shot like that (and he wouldn't have if he was white), it should at least give you some pause.

It seems that he was reaching for his "wallet", after telling the Officer that he had a CCW and a weapon, and that he was then told not to keep reaching.

At least that's what I seem to have read.
Do you have something different?

You're inclusion of what would or wouldn't happen if he had been white, is just an assumption by you.

Think about what you're saying, Thing. Little blacks kids get shot in drive by shootings all too often in some of the worst communities.

Are you seriously contending that cops harassing blacks [to whatever extent it goes on] is a bigger problem than the carnage?

I find it hard to take your outrage seriously.
He's right though. You're being tone deaf. No one is saying that isn't a problem either. No one is condemning white society or police. We are recognizing a problem that needs to be fixed. The lessons learned to be communicated to all.

No one is also saying that there are not cultural or socio-economic issues that need to be addressed too. Poverty has rules all its own. If you know what I mean?

I see the problem as economic and acculturation. That is, it's been going on a long time and we're just noticing it due to the ubiquitous smart phone and social media.

Or, too many people are still racists.

It's strange listening to you guys. It actually gives me little hope that the issue will ever be solved, because w/ so much denial and inability to listen, it doesn't seem possible to have an honest dialogue on the topic. Which is what we need.

Honest dialogue doesn't always end up with whites and cops being the problem.
