Global warming results in more extreme weather. This was predicted.

Global Warming Causes Cold Weather” Theory Rises From The Dead Again!

Jennifer Francis has been peddling this nonsense for years, and has no doubt done very well out of it. But she has never been able to prove that these extreme cold spells are actually becoming more frequent, which is surely the first thing you should do before postulating a theory!

The fact is the annual average global temperature measured over decades is rising. It has been rising for more than 100 years but now the rate of the rise has become higher

Temps rose and melted away the Ice Age,,,what caused that man?

Earth is Not Warming: Temperatures Haven’t Risen

“The global climate has warmed over the last 100 years, but not appreciably over the last 50 years…since 1940, weather satellites, tree ring data, and corrected thermometer readings all agree that climate has not warmed as much.”

Temperatures are not rising: Satellites circling the planet twice a day show that the world has not warmed since 2001.”

So you know it is not true? https://www.edf.org/climate/climate-change-and-extreme-weather An important factor is the difference in temperatures between fronts. More violent weather is created. We have stronger and stronger hurricanes and tornados. Climate denialists are almost all Trumpys. You create your own reality, you are used to it.

Your link doesn't agree with you:

Conclusion: The surface temperature unequivocally shows that Earth is warming. Periods of stable average temperatures, and periods of colder than average temperatures, are consistent with the natural variability of Earth’s climate, and do not undermine the long-term warming trend that has been clearly observed. (emphasis supplied)

The global annual temperature has increased at an average rate of 0.08°C (0.14°F) per decade since 1880.

Don't mention it, you braying jackass.

I didn't know conservatives were still doing the "it's really cold outside so there can't be global warming" thing.

Why don't people prepare for power outages with generators?

Once you go to the expense of installing a natural gas or propane generator, you'll discover that outages will occur more sparsely and you'll rarely need it.
That's how it's worked in my last few residences.
Generators--highly recommended, and it beats freezing your ass off in the winter, especially in places with exposed power poles for which drunk drivers almost seen to aim.

As for man made-climate change, how could it not be real with nearly eight billion people overpopulating the earth?

I always kind of shake my head when people try to say we're some sort of puny presence that has no impact on the health of the planet.

It's just mathematical. We're using the earth's resources at a rate that isn't sustainable, and polluting and destroying habitat at rates that aren't sustainable. We have to change the way we do things.

The Independent, 2000

Doctor David Viner of the Climate Research Unit had this to say In 2000:

Snow is starting to disappear from our lives. Sledges, snowmen, snowballs and the excitement of waking to find that the stuff has settled outside are all a rapidly diminishing part of Britain's culture, as warmer winters – which scientists are attributing to global climate change – produce not only fewer white Christmases, but fewer white Januaries and Februaries … Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community … According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event". "Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said."

The kind of changed life that you describe, however, simply isn't worth living. I'm not some kind of commune living hippie.
We needed to be more responsible with procreation globally. We weren't. We're fucked.

Now it's just about over, so we may as well do whatever the fuck we want.
Just don't drag new people into the world to suffer.

We weren't a puny presence. We were enough of a presence to destroy the earth.

But the answer wasn't to not live well. In that case, why live at all? If I can't enjoy a reasonable standard of living, I didn't need to be born at all.

I like deodorant cans with propellant that actually works. I like big cars with V8 engines. I like my house to be at the temperature that I find comfortable.
And I look down at stoics who don't care about living well and say that I shouldn't either. Fuck them. I keep them out of my life.
The answer was to not fuck ourselves into overpopulated dystopia, and we've already done that. Every fucking person decided to be a breeder.

Intelligent people understood that fucking was for pleasure, but breeding was to be carefully planned.
There just weren't enough of them globally.
People without a pot to piss in had ten kids when well to do people who could afford them wisely had one or maybe two, merely replacing themselves.

Changing the way we do things doesn't mean living out in the forest, or getting off the grid, or anything like that.

We have to change the way we produce energy. There have been exciting developments on that front.

But I also agree on population. For some reason, most politicians are afraid to talk about that one. But it's the most unsustainable thing we have going.
