There is another tragedy developing in Texas. Texas has set on a 27.1 billion surplus for rainy days for decades. Starting with Hurricane Harvey, then that one year people died from freezing to death when the electrical grid failed and then some....none of that money was ever used for maintenance or upgrades, the money just sat there. Texas refused to use government money on its people....In 2016 after Harvey hit, FEMA recommended Alert systems be used for all areas near water, some towns refused, didn't like the sound going off all the time. Some did not.. some neighboring towns near Kerr, who had Alert systems, claimed NO CASUALTIES. Texas have repeatedly refused and turn down government funds with their anti government stance, BUT IS ALWAYS YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR FIRST IN LINE FOR FEMA HANDOUTS, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!

The power grid is owned by private companies. Name one county or town in Texas that refused money for sirens.

When nearby counties installed flood sirens, Kerr County did not. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick now says state could do it. How many times must we keep seeing Texans in the news from flood, hurricanes and electrical grid failures?​

 
More importantly, why do these stupid, thick headed trumper idiots keep on building homes and living so close to a river with a known history of flooding???

Apparently the same brain deficiency or malfunction that causes them to vote for low life pieces of shit like trump, Abbott, Cruz, etc, causes them to live in a flood zone that's almost guaranteed to wash away everything they own and possibly kill them eventually.

There is no stupidity like right-wing trumper stupidity.

Camp Mystic has been in operation since 1926. This was a unique event. This is the worst flood in this area that has happened in recorded history. Camp Mystic should been prepared and evacuated. . Structure can be replaced lives can't. There is no reason to not live near the river. As long as you listen to the weather warning and evacuate if needed.

This event happened in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep.

Plus, it was a FLASH FLOOD.

Meaning: little advance warning.

But... had the irresponsible dumb fuck trumpers in charge placed more importance on safety and human lives than lowering taxes for their mega wealthy donors, they would have had an interconnected network of sirens and some elevated shelters in place for those kids to run to.

And... had this happened in a blue state and/or under a Democrat President, you trumper idiots would have been howling and spewing your usual hate-vomit from day one.

Red states suck and get what they voted for.

This area has flooded before. It happens every 20-40 years or so.
Your advice to use weather radios is pretty sound.
