The Legislature at the State and Federal level passed 'No Knock' laws. Originally it was meant to catch pot smokers sitting in their homes smoking pot. When the Police arrived, they would have to knock and identify themselves. This gave the pot smokers enough time to flush their pot down the toilet. When the door was opened ... there was no 'evidence' to be found.

In the early days when this started playing out across the country, the Police would periodically get wrong addresses. When homes were broken into, families terrorized, dogs shot, ... and it was found to be the wrong address, the Courts deemed it 'legal', and all lawsuits were dismissed. It was open season from there on out.

the Houston 'harding street' raid a couple of years ago is just one result of all that........2 innocent people and a very innocent dog were killed by police because a single cop lied on a form.........
