Former Georgia GOP county chairman arrested for molesting children as young as 4-years-old

The former chairman of the Cobb County Republican Party was taken into custody on Friday after being accused of molesting a several children, including one boy who was only 4-years-old at the time.

Joseph Russell Dendy, 71, was arrested at his home and charged with aggravated child molestation and child molestation, both felonies, for incidents dating back to 2007, reports AJC.com.

According to police, Dendy is also wanted by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, as well as the Laurens Police Department in South Carolina based upon sexual abuse accusations in those states.

Police documents state that Dendy allegedly molested two boys, ages 4 and 12, in separate incidents at his home. One of Dendy’s accusers, now 20, went to the authorities and stated that he was molested in 2007 or 2008, when he was 12 or 13 years old. The second victim said Dendy molested him in December 2011.

Dendy served two, two-year terms as leader of the Cobb GOP before stepping down last year.

The former Republican leader is currently being held in the Cobb County jail without bond.

Good to see those traditional Southern values in action.

Remind me, has the GOP tried to pass any laws to keep Republicans out of public restrooms - for the children?

If the apologists can keep the focus on the LGBT community and keep their party base fearful, then perhaps news like that in the OP will slide under their radar.

In Oklahoma the GOP wants Obama impeached because of his support for transgender rights.

I'm guessing the faith-based bunch will ignore the incident in the OP, and thousands like it.

Slide under the radar? How is a man being arrested and charged sliding under the radar?

Let's make a list of Democrats that are perverts. Then a list of Republicans that are perverts. Then a list of Christian leaders that are perverts. That will surely show us just who has the tiny hands.

Naw, that is just silly. People of all affiliations are human and a few commit felonies (and some, I assume, are good people). The real point is that those who espouse family values to the point of sacrificing basic civil rights, seem to be the most inclined to commit atrocious acts of perversion. An anti-gay senator toe-tapping in a public restroom, Catholic priests and evangelists violating their own strict tenets, and even that gay pastor who pretended that Costco wrote 'fag' on his cake, are abominations, I tell ya, just plain and simple abominations. Hell fire and brimstone, I demand.

Want to bet whether or not the story makes O'Reilly's "talking points" segment?

Or whether Rush spends any time talking about it next week?

THAT is "under the radar".

I bet we don't hear word one from any GOP party higher ups about the story from the OP.

And you expect the GOP higher ups to say what? We need training to tell people not to break the law and commit one of the more sick acts possible and molest kids?

In general I don't think it's a partisan thing to say most people generally don't support child molesters. That transcends partisanship.

For you it's more of a partisan thing.

My guess is you won't hear a word from O'Reilly or Rush or Hannity.

That makes it a "partisan thing".
