An AR-15 is not a hunting rifle?!!

What an AR-15 is not:

1. Fully automatic.
2. "Military Grade"

What it is:

A semi-automatic rifle much like your normal hunting rifle. It's a civilian grade, single shot, semi-automatic rifle. Which means that for each pull of the trigger you get one bullet from a properly loaded and functioning rifle. Just like from your hunting rifle. With one difference; it looks like a fully automatic rifle that people see in the movies so it is much "scarier", though functions the same as, any other semi-automatic rifle.

Orlando Islamic Terrorist Did NOT Use An AR-15

The rifle used by the Islamist terrorist in Orlando was instead a Sig Sauer MCX carbine, a modular, multi-caliber (able to swap to different calibers, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, and 7.62×39) rifle system that sometimes utilizes STANAG magazines common to more than 60 different firearms, but otherwise has no major parts that interface with AR-15s in any way, shape or form.

This of course, will make no difference at all to the anti-gun politimedia, who don’t particularly care about factual accuracy and who likely wouldn’t be able to tell an AR-15 from a toaster oven if their lives depended on it.

The Sig is actually lighter & easier to use than the AR-15.

There isn't any reason whatsoever for any citizen to need a gun like this - not for protection, not for hunting.

Did our little diatribe/rant get you aroused, Ma'am?

It fails because the weapon was not modified. That it "can be" doesn't change reality no matter how many times you repeat it or just really wish it were so. The gun was semi-automatic and functionally no different than the other rifles mentioned in this thread.

The liberal logic is that if you put a 358-cubic-inch engine in a VW, it can now be raced on the Nascar sprint circuit. :palm:

An AR-15 will fire as quickly as you can pull the trigger, with any given magazine, semi auto fire will likely kill more people with the same number of rounds as full auto, so the point about semi vs, full auto, is moot.

https://www.quora.com/How-many-rounds-does-a-semi-automatic-rifle-fire-per-minute

And a semi-auto hand gun behaves in the same manner.
I can put 9 shots down range, in 3 seconds or less.

Fun to watch gun fetishists make straw man arguments and think the won the debate. The multi-Lethality of any semiautomatic rifle is best measured by the size of the magazine it can accommodate not whether it is semi or full, auto.
Full auto will put more holes in fewer individuals and 30 round magazines would have to be changed every few seconds.
Restricting magazine capacities makes perfect sense if we are interested at all in reducing the numbers of deaths in mass murders.
The 30 round magazine is ridiculous.

And there you go again, Jeb. I think if listen hard enough you can actually hear when Jebbie Troll realized when he lost his narrative. It came right around the first time he mentioned "but, they could be!"

And as I said, the functional difference is nada between the rifles you want to ban with those you think are "less dangerous" because they don't look like the weapons used to scare you in movies.

That is the point. The AR15 argument is a distraction. They intend to word it to ensnare more than the AR15

It is fun watching Legion Troll get frustrated with your common sense posts. He doesn't like it when his trolling attempts fall flat.

Who knows, maybe he will rage quit for the third time like Yurt?

:dunno:
