That said, I'm a staunch supporter of the First Amendment and, while I don't condone deliberately desecrating symbols, I support the right to do so given it's privately owned and done in a legal manner.

I have to agree with your picture about desecrating the flag; I do feel that using our flag or a flag of another nation in this manner to be very disrespectful.

and everyone is allowed to have different opinions, but I don't expect anyone has the right to shun or assault others for differing opinions, would you not agree?

Shunning or assaulting others for having a different opinion, is a two way street, it goes both ways.

Agreed. I have the Stars and Bars hanging in my hangar along with the US flag, the 1824 Alamo flag, a Marine Corps flag and a few others. Six Flags over Texas used to mean something until PC assholes silenced them. You can partially see some of my flags behind me in this pic:

Agreed.

The First Amendment gives everyone the right to speak, but it isn't a requirement for everyone to listen.

Disrespectful per the rules, yes. Since I do not believe she's intending anything other than looking fucking hot on the Fourth of July, it's fine by me even though you are technically correct.

Agreed. As for the LWers on this forum, no doubt you are quickly finding out some are simply good Americans with a LW POV and others are nutjobs just like their counterparts on the Right: Teflon Don/ILA, Grokmaster, Truth Detector, etc, etc

ThatOwlWoman and Phantasmal are sane, intelligent and reasonable adults. Not as much fun as the wackjobs like evince and Katzgar, but very pleasant to share a conversation as long as you, too, are being sane, intelligent and reasonable.
