I didn't say Toy owners weren't patriotic, just uneducated about cars.
Clearly it is confusing to Yurt. The problem with Toyota, which you are obviously trying to justify buying, is where do the profits go?
Be American, Buy American.
apparently i have to repeat this for the less intelligent
there is a difference between assembled and made
further, profits from GM or any other american company DO NOT all stay in america, that is such nonsense i can't even believe you would to pass that off on a public forum, good thing its anonymous
and if the entire world only bought what was produced in their own countries, would we all be better or worse off?
(edit: not talking about raw materials... just finished products)
Now I would put that round the other way. I wouldn't buy an American car - because it is crap. But then everyone knows that...except Americans...
I didn't say Toy owners weren't patriotic, just uneducated about cars.
O.K., so now you are going to tell me that as much profit from the sale of a toyota stays in the country as from a G.M.? Happy justification asshole.
Of course he isn't. He's nothing more than a fool who hates America.I am american, I have a G.M. truck for my business. It was built in 1988. It still has the original exhaust system, even though I keep it on a small island thrity miles out to sea. You have no idea what you are talking about. Are you even a mechanic or in any way qualified to comment on mechanical quality?
there is no justification dickwad. i don't have to justify my purchase of anything to YOU. you seem to claim its patriotic to buy american, well...i just showed you it CAN be patriotic to buy a toyota, then you weasel out of it by claiming....well....the profits don't stay in america....then i showed you that was bullshit...now its...well "more profits" stay in america with GM....
toyota provides jobs to US workers and you want that to end. pity. its xenophobic to claim your nation's product is superior solely based on the fact it comes from your nation, its xenophobic to demand people buy only products from your country.
It's not xenophobia, its making a conscious decision to place an intrinsic value on reinvesting in america. Government is not just there to implement neocon globalism values, it's to put trade policy inside a context of other considerations.
Didn't beleive in a global economy then, don't now either.
i invest in america all the time. buying solely american products does not make america a better nation. its absurd to think one cannot buy products from other countries. nonsense xenophobia....
our economy would be shit if all other countries do as you say and "invest" only in their and did not buy american
our economy would be shit if all other countries do as you say and "invest" only in their and did not buy american
Its not fear of other, like i said its just a conscious decision to keep other americans in our own supply chain, like buying organic, or buying green.
Nothing to do with fear, but with love of our fellow citizens over the slave merchants who would come between us with their specialization, elitism, and dehumanizaiton machine.
Apparently that's the reason our economy is shit.
Apparently that's the reason our economy is shit.
that wasn't the question.
Would we be better off or worse off if we and everyone else chose just to buy what was made in our respective countries?
No disagreement there. Our economy is in the shit from no jobs due to too much outsourcing and an irresponsible trade imbalance.
