You've almost got it right. Those referred to as the Clovis people were the first across the land bridge- and they remained to absorb those who came later by the same route- and vice versa- to become the indigenous North American people- the First Nations.

So what we have- to summarize- is an influx of people from Asia who became the first humans in North America who were followed- many thousands of years later- by a bunch of European palefaces who think today that THEY are Americans and that the indigenous Americans are not.

They make it hard to think otherwise with threads like this and Trump's war on Thanksgiving.

We are into trivial things, like, you know, the President of the USA using our tax money to force a foreign government to help him
continue in power by withholding appropriated military aid to keep from being annexed by Russia. Whereas they are into the big weighty issues like conflating
the country of India and native Americans. We need to get our priorities straight.

So What we've got is an original migration from Asia by a people who originally migrated from Africa followed by a later migration from Asia that conquered or 'absorbed' the earlier migration followed by a later migration from Europe that conquered the earlier migration, which, in many cases, refused to be absorbed.

Its not up for argument if you refuse to accept reason and logic as cognitive to human thought.

Question? How does one become indigenous to a land they migrated to? If the Asians are considered indigenous.....why are the Vikings, or other European groups not considered indigenous? Truth: Its not first come first serve......its the age old axiom, He who has the gold makes the golden rule. Every group of humans have taken their lands from those who are the weaker or more timid.

Anyone that is born into a certain region are indigenous to that region....the constant propaganda promoting division based upon skin pigmentation is the problem that results in so called bigotry and racism. Everyone has the divine right of self protection...what they do not have is the right to their own version of TRUTH.

The only place that humans are truly indigenous is the source ……..Africa. All humanity migrated from that original region.

We won't ever have a president born in India. However, we would do well to have a Native American president. In our culture here, as well as elsewhere, tribal leaders assume a heavy task. Decisions are to be made with thought to how they will affect ppl seven generations down the road. Imagine that. No more "Hey, let's mess with that country over there, it's got oil/rare earth elements/drugs/something else we want." No more "Pah on this national forest, we need the wood." No more "Screw this pristine salmon stream, we want the gold that's buried here."

It's not an assumption. Also, there is some evidence that ppl did cross back and forth during the times when the Bering land bridge was open. Many archeologists/anthropologists also believe that some North American immigrants came via boat.

Last week my university announced that we no longer need to choose a minor. WTF! I was going to minor in anthropology. Nevertheless, I'm still going to fill out my requirements with some Anth courses.
