American Indians

North Americans is a far better name. It differentiates them from the later European immigrants.

Are you truly English?

You think if I was born in England then I'd be English ? Sure, I'd be a native of England.
Who were the real ' English ' though ? There aren't any such people. England has been conquered many times over- so there are no indigenous ' English ' as there are indigenous North Americans.
Same with most European countries. The Europeans well and truly fucked each other over before they went a-sailing and fucked over everybody else.

Not necessarily, seeing as how it's been shown that there were others here first; ie. the Clovis people.

:truestory:

We're talking about the ' Clovis people '- the first inhabitants of North America- the indigenous Americans simply because there is no evidence of any other people prior to them. They are the ancestors of the North American Indian tribes- anthropology tells us.

You seem to argue that there are no true natives. I agree.

To the contrary- I'm pointing out that there are indigenous North Americans - the truly native Americans- and there are Europeans claiming native status by birth. That's OK- as long as the palefaces don't think that they're the real North Americans.

But your conclusion is a fallacy; because the Clovis people are not and never were what is now referred to as "Native Americans" because while they have a limited DNA connection, through "relationships", the Clovis people disappeared during the time that immigration was occurring, during a later time, over the frozen bearing sea.

The native ppl I go to school with sometimes refer to themselves as "natives," "indigenous," "Indians," or abbreviate "NDN." Most of the time though they identify by tribal name.

You think so. Anthropologists state that they remained and mixed with later Asians crossing the land bridge to become the First Nation people that exist today.

'Disappeared ', did they. I think you've got people travelling over the land bridge in the wrong direction- but that's just a minor detail. Maybe they forgot something and went back for it.

You're not an indigenous American. Yes, you're native by birth- but not of origin. The First Nations are indigenous.

Really the First Nations' ancestors never migrated from Asia? The First Nations never were divided into separate and distinct tribes.....with at least 53 different languages spoken among the Nations?

DNA evidence proves that the First Nations have a common DNA link with Asian ancestors. Everyone migrated from somewhere.....everyone is guilty of taking land from others to include every Native America Tribe. Europeans where just eons ahead of the peoples that populated the America's in relation to education and technology.....at some point Native North America's lost the advanced roots that had been generated by advanced humans on the Asian Continent. Perhaps due to the hardships of immigrating during the ICE AGE.

But in reality: All humans of all races have a common ancestral DNA lineage originating on the Continent of Africa. There is actually only one race of peoples.....THE HUMAN RACE. Regardless of Skin Color Muscle structure, bone structure.....organs can be transplanted, blood can be transfused. All humans were created with a DNA signature that allowed for environmental adaptation, thus the external differences based primarily upon skin pigmentation. All muscle structure and bone structure differences can be the result of isolated family inbreeding.

I'm surprised they actually use American Indian now, instead of Native American. Seems like a huge compromise for leftists.

This one is worse than the war on Thanksgiving thread. There is this thing called a life, a job, loved ones and hobbies...

What liberals might be thinking consumes you losers.
