actually that is wrong. but one needs to look at the long scope of American history to understand that. the things that were completely out if left field wacky ultra liberal pipe dream ideas a century ago are middle of the road, commonly accepted concepts of governance today. People may claim to be moderate to conservative in their political thought, but the mid-point of that graph has moved miles to the left over the past century.
