Alec Baldwin waved gun around on Rust film set before fatal shooting

Nope. He had professionals whose job was to make sure the weapons were safe. It remains the armorer's fault. You can say he did not hire well if you wish, but if she was like the gun nuts on its board, she convinced him she was totally in charge and it was safe. You are doing it now. You claim to know how it went. He will not lose the case.

Her father is a total legend in Hollywood and she has been around guns since a sprog.

Gutierrez Reed got the job largely because her father, Thell Reed, is a legendary film armorer who worked on “Tombstone,” “3:10 to Yuma,” and “L.A. Confidential,” among many others.
Thell Reed was in the courtroom when the verdict was read. Though his name was on the defense witness list, he was not called to testify. Stacy Reed, the defendant’s mother, was also there, and was in tears when her daughter was led away.

True. When this first happened, it was noted that Armorer experts felt Reed was too young and inexperienced to be in charge by herself. Regardless, she's an adult and should be held responsible for her actions just like everyone else involved in this tragedy:

...Stephen Lighthill, a past president of the ASC, wrote in an email to Variety. “Speaking as a private citizen, those responsible for the killing of Halyna are the actor who pointed the gun at Halyna, the AD who said the gun was safe, the armorer who loaded the weapon and the producer(s) who put this production together are all culpable.”

Should the CEO of Boeing be held responsible for the mechanics who forgot to put the bolts in a plug door?

Should Trump be held responsible for the actions of his various employees who are guilty of fraud and financial malfeasance?

I think they should. The leaders set the tone and should be held responsible for the safety environment under their areas of responsibility.

Let's take that one all the way down that inane road. If the CEO was wrenching the bolts and then unwrenching the bolts over and over and then the door suddenly flew off on a flight he was directing... you might have a valid comparison, but this is the weakest comparison ever....

This guy fired a gun into his cinematographer, he wasn't in some office thousands of miles away from the set being the CEO... He was directing and acting in a film and didn't care to follow simple safety rules. He deserves time, and if justice in these United States was ever actually justice he'll be getting more than the armorer who was just doing what he told her and allowed on his set.

My apologies. I was raised in and had a career in the US military where honor and responsibility meant something, not the business world where people would sell their own mothers off as whores for an extra percentage. While you support Trumpian business practices of "Whatever you can get away with", I feel the leaders, agencies and corporations, in whatever capacity, should be held accountable for their actions.

The person in charge should be held accountable for the actions of those under them. If a CEO says "cut the safety budget by 50%. We haven't had an accident in two years", are they responsible for an accident a 1000 miles away in a part of the company he has never seen? I believe they should based upon the capacity of their position. Same for Balwin.

Alec Baldwin was the executive producer of this movie. He not only tied his own money into it, but he was the top boss. He set the safety tone of the production and, by all reports, people were worried. If Hannah showed up that day with live ammo, that'd be one thing, but it was known there was live ammo on the set. It was known real guns were being used. It was known that Alec used his pistol as a pointer identifying people and positions. He should be held accountable for his actions. No more, no less.

A film producer is a person that initiates, coordinates, supervises and manages the creation and production of movies, television shows, web series, and commercial videos, amongst other productions....

...A producer for film is anyone who brings the project to fruition and is often the person that holds the rights to the underlying property....

...An executive producer (EP) is the head producer who supervises other producers in the creation of a film, television show, web series, commercial, or theater performance....

...An executive producer is usually a financier of the project.

So you believe that if you invest enough in something you are no longer responsible for your actions? It isn't me that is following the Trumpian path to forgiveness, that's all on you, bud.

He allowed live rounds on set, he didn't follow safety rules on firearms, he was in charge and the actor and director, was on scene and the actual one who fired a round into the victim. Alec Baldwin absolutely is responsible for the events that led up to his employee's death.

No. Investment is a motive and irrelevant to whether a person should be held accountable for their actions. Those in charge have authority and responsibility over others. Baldwin was Executive Producer, there was an Asst. Director and there was Hannah, head armorer. All should be held accountable.

Agreed. Where have I ever said different?
Agreed. Baldwin deserves a sentence at least as long as Hannah's and, if it was up to me, twice as much since, as Executive Producer, he was responsible for the safety on the set and for his actions such using a pistol as a pointer.

In footage shown at the trial of the film's armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, Mr Baldwin is also seen telling her to reload the gun more quickly.

The footage played on Thursday showed Mr Baldwin gesticulating with a pistol loaded with blanks and firing the gun within close proximity to camera operators, the AFP news agency reported.

He was also seen asking Ms Gutierrez-Reed why she didn't have more weapons ready.

After the director called "cut", he said: "One more! One more! One more! Right away! Let's reload!"

He was also heard saying: "We should have two guns and both we're reloading."

"Rushing with firearms and telling someone to rush with firearms is not normal nor accepted," he told the court.

He was haphazardly playing with firearms and rushing Reed to move faster! SCREAMING

He is going down:laugh:
Anyone that knows anything about guns knows you never point a gun at anyone you don't intend to shoot. And you sure as hell don't handle a weapon that YOU personally do not check. Baldwin is guilty of negligence.

Agreed, but not the only negligence given his greater authority and responsibilities as Executive Producer.

Like Trump, Baldwin will try to blame those under him. I hope justice is served here. Not just for Halyna Hutchins, but for every person who works on a movie set and could end up being shot by unscrupulous, tyrannical egomaniacs out of greed and negligence.

Mr. Tiny Penis can find a way to drag the name Trump into a thread about birds migrating. Living with severe TDS is a terrible way to go through your daily life. Daily struggles like this are hard to imagine.

Wannabe, your wimpy ass has never served this country a day in its gender confused life. STFU fraud.

Waved it around? Why not? It wasn't hot according to the professional armorer. You are up in arms because of Baldwin's politics, not his actions. This is a big nothing.
