Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in 'Rust' movie set shooting

Indeed!

It was a "real" gun, not a "prop" gun. Blanks don't look like real "live" ammo, and the bullet can easily be seen simply by looking at the cylinder, even while in the gun.

And now you've given Baldwin another way to deflect blame: "If there was a live round, who brought it onto the set?".

Baldwin won't be convicted.

This is a political trial. Hutchin's family got an unknown settlement. That was a while ago. This is just a huge show trial of the lefty Baldwin.

Then the armorer is liable, not Baldwin. He is an actor, not a props checker.

I'm not crazy about Baldwin's political views but I don't think he should be charged and do time for something he isn't responsible for.
It's Baldwin's fault because he hired her even though she had never been an armorer before and kept her even though she allowed the prop guns to be used for live target practice on the set. Baldwin was the managing director and he created an unsafe working environment.

Agreed. As the actor who pulled the trigger when the gun was pointed at a person, he bears some responsibility for the accidental shooting.

However, as the producer, he actively cut corners on safety to save money and is directly responsible for the results.

I am pretty sure that I saw long ago that the movie makers paid almost the same amount to rent this one weapon for the shoot as they were planning to pay the armorer.

That's a problem.

Don't get your hopes up. I predict the 0-6 month range.

I'm guessing closer to 0 than 6. Most likely a huge fine, a few thousand hours of community service where Alec goes to schools and says "Guns bad" plus set up a scholarship fund for children of Hollywood crew members killed by arrogant actors and producers.
