This kind of talk costs Democrats independent votes and helps keeps the nation socially regressive.

Private ownership of firearms should have been constitutionally protected without mention of stupid militias.
Now the goobers think that they have the right to overthrow a properly elected government.

If we can't be trusted to individually own the proper kind of sporting firearms,
we're an inferior species and deserve to go extinct.
The facts are already pointing in that direction, I will admit.

Good luck with that plan, but I'd bet against it ever happening. The US isn't a despotic or monarchist state. You'd be fighting over 200 years of culture.

This nation is socially regressive with or without gun ownership.

But you're right about the direction in which the facts are pointing, though.

We are an inferior species that deserves to go extinct.

There's no reason for "sporting firearms" to exist because in spite of what the enthusiasts claim to the contrary, there is nothing about the shooting of firearms that can be considered a sport.

Especially hunting.

How does using the clever technology available to hunters today, to stalk dumb animals in the wild minding their own business, then from a great distance, firing a high caliber lead projectile into their rib cage, constitute a sport?

Nothing sporting about it.

If people want to hunt, let them learn how to use a bow and arrow.
