ACLU vs. alQaeda!

Oh, I am not "hoping" for it, I am guaranteeing it will happen! I PROMISE! How much clearer can I make that? There is no "hope" for anything, except that I hope I can stay alive and keep my family alive. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever, we are going to be attacked again, it's coming big boy!

Now, you hear your brother over there, yammering some idiocy about FDR and "fear" as if I am the one who is afraid. But the truth of the matter is, and I think this is the case with the left in general, you are all chicken shit of alQaeda and radical Islam! That is what is fueling this consistent position against Bush's policies toward terrorism, fighting the war on terror, or effectively gathering intelligence. It scares the ever-loving bejesus out of you, and the only way you know to respond is to act like you aren't scared a bit, and you're so fucking brave you are willing to abandon any kind of real resistance to it. You are the dweeb geek with a pocket protector who routinely gets his ass whooped by the jocks, trying to convince everyone, including yourself, that you don't mind it, you aren't going to do anything about it, and you'll just keep taking whatever they dish out, it's not worth you making a stand to stop it. You think people view you as some sort of courageous person who is fearless under pressure, but you are pissing in your pants at the mention of alQaeda.

"That is what is fueling this consistent position against Bush's policies toward terrorism, fighting the war on terror, or effectively gathering intelligence."

I cannot believe you actually typed that.

Bush's policies toward terrorism and fighting the war on terror were mainly aimed at starting a war in a nation that had not attacked us. And the Patriot act was as unconstitutional a piece of legislation as we have seen in decades. He left Afganistan largely alone, all but abandoned the search for bin Laden, left our southern border wide open, and used our military to boost his own ego.

And as far as "effectively gathering intelligence", you insistence that torture does so is completely based on bullshit.

Our OWN CIA has said it doesn't work well. On the few occasions it worked, the only plus was the speed with which it worked. More valid intell has been gathered by other means, and would have done so in the instances. And when you consider the amount of time you have to spend validating the intell (because you cannot trust it) and spent chasing false leads, the speed of gaining the intell is lost.

You WANT torture to be effective, but it just isn't.

I don't like your chances Dixie. The list of high-value targets in Alabama is legendary.

You poor bastard.

Dixie, I have a question for you. I fully expect you to ignore this question, but I will ask it anyway.

If Obama had flat out allowed torture to be used to gather intelligence, are you going to guarantee there would be no attacks?

In other words, if we sold out our principles and standards in order to prevent another attack, would we be sure we would stop it?

Are you willing to say that by allowing ANY Harsh interrogation techniques we would be assured of no further attacks?

Iraq was one of the most cowardly, reckless military actions in my lifetime, executed by 2 guys who used every single deferment they could to get out of fighting in Vietnam, and cheerleaded by the brave keyboard warriors who you so proudly serve.

It's not brave to kill women & children, and to create millions of refugees. It's not brave to torture.

Solitary? Why are you continuing to argue from a position as if you are trying to change my mind about the policies in place? Bush is not the president, we are prohibited from any physically discomforting action against any detainee, you got what you wanted! We won't be using the Bush techniques any more, and we'll certainly release those poor innocent people we are holding at Gitmo. There's nothing else for you to argue for here, Sol! You have everything you ever dreamed of and more! Not a damn thing I can do about it, president Obama isn't going to listen to what I've got to say, so why are you posing this discussion in that sort of light? I don't get it!

So, now that we aren't "torturing" those poor unfortunate Islamic extremists, and they will soon be free to go rejoin their little jihads and what not, you and your liberal ACLU-type pinhead buddies should be rejoicing in the streets! You WON! Yippee!

I just want to know, do you favor the solid color prayer rugs or those multi-colored ones with the stripes and zig-zags? I'm kinda partial to the multi-colored ones, but nothing too flashy, I wouldn't want to be mistaken for a homosexual or anything, I hear they frown on that. Oh well... just curious as to what you thought on that.

Hilarious.

You know what Dix, you need to sign up with the Red State Strikeforce. They could use a guy like you.

Edit: would you like me to forward them a sampling of your work?

"Bush is not the president"

You're right; "Bush 3" is President. Isn't that what you told us just a few weeks ago, and - if I'm not mistaken - I think you were laughing your head off that we were trying to spin otherwise?

I know I am not changing your mind. But, if you check the listings, you will see that there are quite a few people who come on this site and never post. There are also plenty of people who read these posts and use that info to help them make decisions about who they support politically.

By showing you to be an ignorant, fear-mongering, bitter loser without a shred of credibility, I help them see the best way to go.

Unlike you, I am not going to use fear as an excuse for compromising my principles.

Mott, don't take Yurt's words about Darla seriously. He has a "darla fetish" and is still trying to buy her underwear on Ebay.

you should really learn to cover your projections more, too transparent...maybe you could try craigslist if you aren't succeeding on ebay

I notice you didn't answer this question, Dixie.

And the fact that you keep making predictions about what WILL happen, when you have the most abysmal record on your previous predictions is hilarious.

Tell us more, dixie. Your accuracy has been so good so far. lmao

See my previous comment about Mayans and Dixie.

This thread is epic.

Lets establish something. Dixie, in 8 years if we haven't been hit again, will you admit that you were wrong?

Will you please stop repeating your stupidity like I haven't read it a dozen times? Yes, when Obama first began to appoint his fairly moderate cabinet, and retained Bush's Defense Sec., I did say that it seemed like you got "Bush 3" with regard to foreign policy. And we still haven't seen much in terms of actual "foreign policy" from the Obama administration, it may indeed be a lot like "Bush 3"...but, interrogation techniques of detainees at Gitmo is not really "foreign policy" is it?

Sol, you are kidding yourself if you think anyone is going to read this thread and then DECIDE what they believe from this point forward. I think we can assume that most non-brain-dead people have formed some kind of opinion on this, at this point in time, and if they haven't, well... what we say here on a political forum, is not likely to form one for them. But, it is nice of you to reveal your motivation is purely political, and you are simply cheerleading for the Democrat Party.

:cheer:
