Abortion thought experiment

and NO law shall be made to promote any one religion.

that means you dont get to just force everyone to follow ANY laws of your religion

history has seen that many times and watched it fail

Still don't see the argument here. No one has forced an established religion on you. Do what you want. People of all faiths have the freedom to do what we want, too. Have Jehovah Witnesses been bothering you lately? Are there some militant Methodists tearing up your neighborhood or something? Go live your life. Peace.

I want you people to stop pretending you can run the country

No one should have to be treated like trash because they dont share your religion

have their healthcare taken from them

The “righteous” always think people who don’t believe in their religion haven’t studied, prayed, begged or at one time were part of the “faithful”. They want to desperately think we haven’t studied or don’t understand. It makes them feel better I guess and superior to the “unbelievers” because they supposedly understand, yet, much of what they believe isnt provable and just be taken on faith alone.

The bottom line is faith. Choose your own way then. Accept Christ or don't. Peace. Out.

No, I pay my debts, I’ve never had them forgiven, that also feels good!

I am glad your religion makes you feel good, the majority of people seem to need it. I live a wonderful life free from religion, I know people like you are shocked but this, but it is perfectly true!

Religion makes me feel nothing. Christ's love is alive.
I'm not shocked...this is the norm.
And, if no one ever gave an unexpected or undeserved gift, I'm very sorry for you. It's a humbling experience learning to simply say 'thank-you' .

and here you are pretending that this poster never said thank you to someone for a gift

why?

Yeah, I know. The fact is we can not save ourselves from that baggage of sin we all carry.
You don't have understanding. In the natural we are sinners, all of us. God offers us the free gift of salvation through faith in his Son, Jesus Christ. He bore all our sins on the cross and paid the price in full. All we have to do accept the gift. THIS is the Gospel...the Good News. I have nothing to boast of in myself. Instead I boast in Christ who saved me while I was still in my sin. This is great news. The pressure is off. Knowing that I don't (and can't) work my butt off to get in God's good graces is fantastic news. I trust in Christ alone to finish the work that HE started in me! WOW!!! What a gift! If a person hands me a gift, I receive it and say, "thank-you!" How much more do I give thanks now to God himself for providing me with this free gift of life that I didn't earn, deserve or work for!

Have you ever had anybody ever forgive you of a debt you may have owed? A credit card company, a friend, a business partner? I have and what a relief that was, such a load lifted. Well this joy and freedom is like THAT only multiplied by billions! :awesome:

For I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

me too

I have forgiven the debts of others to me though

My my, all these perfect people that never had any kind of debt forgiven by another human being...be it monetary, a lie, a mistake, any kind of hurtful transgression. Nobody in here knows the joy of having been forgiven of a misdeed in their entire perfect lives. :(

Right :) No state-enforced established religion...no prohibition of exercising our rights to our own choice religion ...or no religion at all. That was a main reason for getting away from England where one specific religion was forced on people by the government.

'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
Yet, some those same people came to the new land and did the same thing, crazy huh!

the abortion question has already been answered by the American people

you cant pretend you can force us to change it to FIT YOUR RELIGION

many of us do not agree with your limited take on the issue

that will not change

NO LAW

that means no single law designed arround ONE religion.

so it can not be built incrementally

GET IT

Still don't get all the complicating of this simple Constitutional statement. There IS NO LAW now or ever dictating one main state religion in this country. Geeeeeeeeesh.
