Because abortion is not about protecting life, not in the minds of Americans who oppose it. It is about imposing controls on women's sexuality. If a woman is as free as a man to have sex when she desires, we will turn into a veritable Sodom and Gomorrah. Among older (50 and up) Americans, women are expected to be chaste, pure, only have sex when married, and get only a small bit of joy from it. Women who enjoy sex are sluts, in the minds of these forced-birthers. If women are forced to live with the consequences of their slutty behaviors, they'll stop doing that.

You are correct. We Michigan voters not only passed a constitutional amendment last year protecting reproductive freedom, we also elected the first (D) majority house, senate, and executive branch in years. Yesterday, our governor signed the repeal of Michigan's 1931 anti-abortion law to make sure that women have as much freedom to not be a parent as men have.

Apparently you are dumb enough to believe that a zygote or embryo (the gestational stage at which the vast majority of both miscarriages and abortions occur) have hearts and lungs. My fingernails have DNA so that isn't a marker of "life" as you seem to believe.

At any rate, as repeatedly pointed out, this thread is about how you forced-birthers are losing elections based on your desire to control women and our sexuality. You will continue to lose elections on this basis, hopefully till there are no more of your tyrannical breed left in office. People of child-bearing age are increasingly opposed to your draconian bans on reproductive freedom. That age group also tends to vote progressive, rather than regressive.

The Republican Party controls both chambers of the state legislature.

As of April 5, 2023, there are 22 Republican trifectas, 17 Democratic trifectas, and 11 divided governments where neither party holds trifecta control.

I may be wrong but I think the fuss is about all the fatalities.......many think killing your unborn children is the antithesis of civilization......go figure where silly ideas come from.......
