As one example, Trump got a law enacted that reduced the deduction that a person could take for state and local taxes (aka SALT deduction). This hit the rich the hardest because they pay the most in those taxes, particularly if they live in a high tax blue state. The Democrats reversed that allowing their rich constituents to once again reap the benefits of a bigger tax deduction.

Democrats have large voter advantages in upscale urban areas dominated by college educated, mostly rich(er) types. The filthy rich give more heavily to Democrats than Republicans.
