If it wasn't for the mentally challenged there would be no conservatives at all. If you look at conservative political messages they are almost entirely made of simple words, simple sentences and sound bites. In other words they have researched their 'audience' and aim their message precisely. It's quite clever, after all Fox has been doing it for years. You will have noticed very little actual thought goes into posts by Dixie et al. There are few if any actual original opinions. They are, by and large, incapable of understanding an argument or debate. They probably don't read books and to them a message of more than 100 words is a book.
They are the price we pay for the good things in life. To have clean fuel we must suffer conservative claptrap, to strive for better foreign relations the conservative insularity rattles as we throw it in the draw marked payments. If we wish to create a fairer society, one in which people have respect for one another then another conservative bit of nonsense must be allowed its moment.

The meaning of any word is affected by context, intention and the personality and character of the speaker.
You misuse the word 'socialism' for your own 'political' purposes. You, to repeat a somewhat trendy phrase, pepper your vocabulary with 'hooray' words converted to 'boo' words by your own personality, character and motive.
Therefore for you now to plead that the word 'socialism' has many shades of meaning by comparing it with 'red' of which there are many shades creates a false argument. You, and your 'friends' have similarly changed 'liberal' one of the best 'hooray' words
in the language into what you and your little friends have convinced yourselves is a 'boo' word. What better word in the language is there than 'Liberal'? Why should you try to convince one another that 'liberalism' or 'socialism' is bad when you have never experiencd it, have never even studied its meaning and ramifications.
I, personally, do not like the way the word 'gay' has been hijacked to describe the perfectly acceptable word 'homosexual'. The difference between it and the words I mention above, is that 'gay' is now universally accepted while your definitions of 'liberal' and 'socialist' are not.
I know you are only a poor skate, but I hold out my hand to you in an effort to improve your understanding of the world, the universe and everything. You should accept my advice in the spirit it is given.

When I provide you with the historical background of a situation and all of the intricacies of a topic, and you respond with a random definition from a single dictionary and pretend as if this makes anything I've said untrue, it is quite possibly the most infuriating thing in the universe. It is epic in it's stupidity. It reminds me of when I said that democracy was "really, rule by the majority", which is an obvious statement that can't be disputed by anyone who's in communication with reality. However, Desh responded with a dictionary definition that said that democracy was "rule by the people", and then acted as if she had disproven me. After all, democracy = good, tyranny of the majority = bad, therefore, democracy /= tyranny of the majority. Just like Obama = bad, socialist = bad, therefore, Obama = socialist. The algebra of idiots.
 
I challenge Dixie to go to every article in wikipedia, erase the page on the subject, and replace it with the dictionary definition of the word, as his (retarded) intuition would suggest. Jesus fucking Christ.

You are right. Most dictionaries are 'descriptive' and not 'prescriptive'. I say most because there are many types of dictionary although we know that Bravo is not using a dictionary of naval terms or a Chinese English dictionary, or a dictionary of idioms.

The CPUSA isn't the same organization it used to be. It's moved far to the right, and it's gotten a lot of hatred in far-left circles due to that. The SPUSA, in contrast, is highly critical of both of the conservative parties.

I would suggest that you are the one who needs to understand the meaning of the word socialism. Your own dictionary quote is spot on:advocate the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

None of those financial organizations that you list are owned by the government. No democrat is advocating nationalizing all of the control of the means of production and distribution of capital, land, etc. IN THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE. No democrat is advocating owning everyone's property. No democrat is advocating vesting control of everything to the government. THAT is what socialism is. Government regulation is not nationalizing the means of production. Government regulation is NOT nationalizing the means of production and distributing of capital and land.

You can go to the CPUSA website and see they routinely endorse the candidates of the Democrat party and direct their members to VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS at election time...

They publish a platform that most readers would mistake as a blueprint of the Democrat Party....

They ridicule the Tea Party in the same way the democrats do.....so

In reality, the Democrats are the ones that moved so far to the left so as to now be in agreement with the Communists....
