9 US citizens dead in Israel conflict, US National Security Council

There are a lot of moving parts here. It's hard to generalize.

Israel is surrounded by those who deny their right to exist. We can debate how/why Israel was formed, and if Palestine has a valid grudge. And yes...Israel has a long history of being a terrorist state, depending upon who the leader of the nation is. Begin, a terrorist leader in his own right, created a peace agreement with Egypt while building settlements in Palestine.

It seems that Israel could never get all factions within its govt. to agree on anything.

So we have 50 years of terrorists on both sides killing each other. Israel makes no attempts to scale back their stranglehold on Palestine, and Palestine makes no attempt to scale back its demand that Israel not exist.

It's a stalemate that will never end. Politically, Israel enjoys massive support from the U.S for two reasons. It's a wedge issue for American Jews. They will vote for the party that blindly supports Israel.

It also allows U.S post WW2 petroleum policy in the region to prosper. It puts military bases in a strategic region so that we can protect 'our' oil. Other than that, U.S govt doesn't give a fuck about Jews, or Israel.

Tired of people whining about Israel. The US is not a babysitter.

I already described to you why the U.S supports Israel. We aren't babysitters. We would turn on Israel as quickly as we turned on Iraq when the oil was in jeopardy.

Our defense industry gets billions of dollars from the taxpayer via agreements with Israel.

Lobbyists love Israel, and they love these conflicts.

Oil will go back up for no reason, and defense contractors will get billions more in no bid contracts.

Mostly about corruption. Jewish money bribing Congress and the Presidency.

War is good money.
Thus proving your head is not only up your ass, but stuck in the 1960s, old girl.

Which makes you happier?: 900 dead Israelis or the 11 (so far) dead Jew-loving Americans your Palestinian heroes valiantly shot as when they cowered in their cars and on the ground?

Mao's China has never occupied Taiwan.

The U.S. has many bases in close proximity to Taiwan. I put the odds of a Xi invasion at 1%.
it is difficult for China to take all of Taiwan depending on forces like Australia or the littoral states helping US defend
Odds start at 50-50 he will invade. since we are sure that is his intent. He has to weigh what he gets rather then just accept a minimal threat to Chinas reach. Taiwan is like a splinter . China keeps yelling about it but keeps moving along with it in

China military is rapidly expanding and their navy will be able to "swarm" resources we put into the western Pacific. Thy steal or design so well they will eventually be on par with the quality of US weapons too.

A good reason why Xi wont invade until he's sure he can win a military battle- but-
for Xi Taiwan is very much a existential threat.. All this means we have to stay ready and quit squandering at least naval weapons for Ukriane.
You know what i think about Ukraine. just give the keys to Europe and spend resources elsewhere

Europe should do a whole lot more.
Last time I checked, Ukraine still receives revenue from Russia for the pipelines to Europe.
US is shipping a lot of LNG to Europe.. You knw Europe wants to go green except when they burn wood stoves and the USA made the greatest reduction in carbon emissions over the last 10 years by shifting from coal to LNG

all of which of course offends the Green maniacs :palm:

Agree we must stay vigilante and ready.

There are strong rumors that China just lost a brand new class 93 sub. China rarely uses its military for war. List of China wars ...

The Mali war is an interesting but never heard of current war.

Yes, drone swarm attacks are a great threat. But the price China would pay would be extremely high. The prize is not worth it, IMO.

IMO. China's constant threats to take Taiwan are mostly a way of saving face.

Israel should reoccupy Gaza, execute all the Hamas leadership and then rebuild the territory.

There really is no other choice.

Sadly, the Democrats are so uninformed, they don't know Israel handed Gaza over to Palestinians in 2005, evicted 9,000 Israeli citizens and removed over 20 military bases from the region.
