Yep. They're also perceived by non-Asians the same way... hence the multitude of attacks lately on Asians.

As for the "problem," you all have no desire to do anything about the easy availability of firearms and the lack of mental health care in this country, or Sandy Hook would have shocked you to the bone as it did the rest of us.

If you live in or near Philadelphia, you know about the brutal December attacks on Asian students at a local high school. Seven kids were hospitalized with injuries sustained mostly at the hands of African-American students, who beat Asians in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria and the streets outside the school.

But the incident has barely registered outside of southeastern Pennsylvania, generating a few wire stories and little else. To understand why, try a thought experiment: Imagine the victims were black and the attackers white, or the other way around.

The whole nation -- indeed, the whole world -- would know about it. The president would go on TV to denounce the episode and demand a speedy remedy. Members of Congress would eagerly join in, competing with each other to condemn the racism in our midst. And hordes of reporters would descend on the school to seek the inside scoop.

untrue, I don't think banning assault weapons that are used in less than 1% of all gun crimes will solve the problem.


And no, not true at all, I think in order to stop out gun violence problem which is 95% an illegal handgun problem:


1. Legalize marijuana and most drugs
2. Release all non violent drug offenders and expunge their records.
3. Use money saved from not incarcerating people for drug programs, and trade school scholarships.
4. Offer 1 year no tax on new businesses in the worst areas
5. 6 month amesty and/or buy back of any illegal gun.
6. Increase penalties to mandatory additional 10 years for being in possession of an illegal gun. No parole, no plea bargaining.
7. Increase oenalties for dealers and sellers of strawman and other illegal purchases to 15 years, no parole no plea bargaining for each count.

The point of bringing up past incidents is to deflect from the fact that the accused in this case is the typical American mass shooter perp -- a white male.

95% of all gun crimes are committed with illegal guns owned by people with criminal records. social media post monitoring does not solve the problem.

I don't disagree that it could help, but it's such a small part of the overall gun problem which is an illegal gun problem in the hands of criminals that should get the lions share of attention. right now its the opposite.

This is incorrect, When we refrain from criticizing black troublemakers as loudly as miscreants of other races, we reinforce the idea that African-Americans are somehow prone to such acts. What could be more racist than that?

On the surface it might, but when they make the guns you own legally into illegal guns it becomes a different story, one has to watch out for how things can be applied under different conditions, which change daily.
