$650,000 of Florida taxpayer money.

It's not a problem for me if California wants to absorb the cost of illegals, as long as they don't get any federal money to do it, but the taxes paid by illegals probably isn't coming close to covering the costs. The same article I linked above shows that, federally, the estimated 12.5 million illegals paid about 19 billion in federal taxes.

The costs of illegal immigration are comprehensive. Even after deducting the $19 billion in taxes paid by illegal immigrants, the 12.5 million of them living in the country results in a $116 billion burden on the economy and taxpayers each year. About two-thirds of this amount is absorbed by local and state taxpayers, who are often the least unable to share the costs.

But, again, I was making the point that the $618k is a drop in the bucket.

You never provided a source to these numbers

We all know why

On a side note, yes, Libertarians want the free flow of labor across all borders. There's nothing wrong with that. The market will dictate how many are needed.

I wish you could realize that the libertarian party does NOT AGREE with these types of ideas

Their economic vision is stupid and brutal when it comes to actual workers

You've seen me post my recommendations but, instead of addressing those ideas, you prefer to push lies about the LP. Why? Too uncomfortable for you?

1.4 Personal Relationships

Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government’s treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration, or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, promote, license, or restrict personal relationships, regardless of the number of participants. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships. Until such time as the government stops its illegitimate practice of marriage licensing, such licenses must be granted to all consenting adults who apply.

WHEREAS, the Libertarian Party acknowledges that economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Libertarian Party condemns and opposes efforts to build a governmental border wall, be it through congress or gross abuse of authority in an ill-founded declaration of emergency.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Libertarian Party supports the natural right of freedom of movement of all peaceful people, for any reason, subject only to rights of other individuals to control their own privately owned property.

You are the one conflating asshole

You right wing fucks claim all immigrants are illegals

Your idiots that way

Right, so I just said that some come here legally and some don't... but I believe that they're all illegal?

I argue like a woman dutch

With the facts at my back and actual math in my corner

Yes you do, dear. Do you think that's an insult to be identified as "arguing like a woman"? Should I be insulted if you say "You argue like a man, Dutch!"?*

If it's not an insult, why do you think I post it?

*men and women do argue differently because they communicate differently. Some is genetic, but a lot of it is cultural.

The total costs of education due to immigration will nearly double in the state over the next 50 years. Californians are saddled with $23 billion in tax dollars for services relating to the illegal population, which makes up more than 10 percent of the state budget. Californians pay 11 percent of their incomes in state and local taxes already. The additional burden imposed by illegal immigrants is $600 in costs to each citizen annually.

Republicans use Austrian school math too dutch

Okay. What does that have to do with my recommendation for immigration reform and that those who support the status quo are supporting indentured servitude.

You argue like a woman...or a very immature adolescent male. Sorry, I don't debate minors.

You're free to stick with your opinion and avoid discussing illegal immigration, but count me out due to my rule about minors.

Example:

You meant it as an insult

Then you lied about it

Some sources aren't good, but surely you don't think the AP, which is linked early on the story, is trash, right? And, regardless of which reported number you accept as the true 'cost' of illegal immigration, it's ridiculously higher than the $618k DeSantis spent. In fact, the entire $12 million dollar budget DeSantis has to apparently ship illegals around the country doesn't sniff the cost of illegal immigration.

Neither the White House nor the Department of Homeland Security responded to questions Tuesday about where the $250 billion estimate had come from.

The Heritage Foundation, for instance, estimated in 2013 that households headed by immigrants living in the U.S. illegally impose a net fiscal burden of around $54.5 billion per year.

And even Trump himself has contradicted the figure. During his 2016 campaign, Trump claimed that illegal immigration cost the country more than $113 billion a year — less than half the number he tweeted Tuesday.

That estimate appeared based on a paper by FAIR, which released an updated report in 2017 that claimed taxpayers “shell out approximately $134.9 billion to cover the costs incurred by the presence of more than 12.5 million illegal aliens, and about 4.2 million citizen children of illegal aliens” at the federal, state and local levels, with “a tax burden of approximately $8,075 per illegal alien family member and a total of $115,894,597,664.”
