Nope. They are real numbers according to the metrics that we have used for a long time. The point is to have a quick comparison of how policies are impacting the workforce. Using the same system allows that. Biden is of course using the same numbers that other presidents used. You can easily see how things are going. Last I looked, the labor dept had 6 ways of judging employment. This is the one we have agreed to.

Random point, Clinton was the one who allowed the other rates to be published. Bush tried to reverse that, but everyone rebelled against that.

There is no way to rewrite history to make Republicans complete successes, or Democrats anything but mostly successes.

I tried - couldn't find anything where you say it's a poor predictor. Doesn't mean that posts aren't out there, but they don't come up on a basic search.

Partisans in general have a hard time giving the opposing party credit, but the fact is that the previous admin was terrible when it came to jobs, and the current admin is adding many millions of jobs. If you want to dispute the 12 million #, have at it - but regardless, it's many millions, and we're in a much better place now (employment-wise) then we were when Trump left office.

What I'm claiming, is that the vast majority of jobs Biden "created" weren't created at all. They were the result of the economy reopening after the disastrous Chinese disease lockdowns--that were far worse in Blue states. So, I'd say his policy on the economy has been pretty run-of-the-mill and in many sectors he's slammed the US economy pretty hard. Most of that comes from the regulatory excesses he's allowed to be foisted on it.

Things are going much better than expected.

It's just a fact: Republicans always predict doom when a Dem President takes over, but the history & the results are clear. Bush Sr. left office w/ a Recession, and Clinton led this country to the greatest prosperity it has known. GW left w/ an economic crash and things spiraling downward, and Obama passed a stimulus which led us to the longest recovery in decades. Trump was the worst jobs President in modern times, and Biden has added close to 12 million jobs.

All conservatives can really do is try to spin the #'s, deny them, or try to contend that even though they're good, the President has nothing to do w/ them. But we know if they were bad, it would be all on Biden, or Obama, or Clinton.

Clinton was far more politically savvy than Obama or Biden. He knew which side his bread was buttered on, and when the Republicans took control of Congress he worked with them, rather than perpetually at odds with them. Obama and Biden are both Leftists (Biden being a convert during the Obama years). Obama proved unwilling and unable to work with the opposition. Biden is proving the same thing.

Trump had two things going against him. First was the very real and visceral hatred the establishment and Democrats have for him. The second is an ego bigger than Jupiter. So, he'd demand and they'd stonewall. It created a train wreck, but hardly one of Trump's making alone.

I'll add, of the bunch, Clinton was easily the most corrupt. Biden might turn out to be equally so, but we have yet to see that fully. Obama really wasn't because he wasn't fully invested in the game so much as simply being elected to office. Trump, like I implied, was the outlier. He was the proverbial bull in a china shop.

In the end, both had to compromise, and it was to both party's benefit that they did. Gingrich badly miscalculated there, but recovered and Clinton did the same from his first two disastrous years in office--both by compromising.
