3 Women Hospitalized After Triple Shooting at NW Dallas Hair Salon

The search is underway for a man who entered a Northwest Dallas hair salon Wednesday afternoon and shot three women.

Dallas Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said a man stopped his vehicle at about 2:22 p.m. on the 2200 block of Royal Lane, walked across the shopping center parking lot and entered the Hair World Salon.

Once he was inside, Mitchell said the man shouted something unintelligible and began shooting....

Three women inside the business were injured, all apparently shot in their extremities, Mitchell said. One woman was shot in the arm and another in the leg. They were all hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening....

Wednesday night, Dallas Police released surveillance camera images of the shooter, seen wearing all black and holding a large firearm. The maroon minivan police believe he was traveling in is also pictured.

The only description provided by Dallas police Wednesday afternoon was that the gunman appeared to be a Black man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with curly medium length hair and a connecting beard. He was last seen traveling in a dark-colored or maroon minivan-type vehicle. It was not immediately clear what type of gun was used in the shooting.
 
More guns is the answer, we already got more guns than people, but appears that ain’t enough, more guns are needed, maybe the Gov’t can hand them out, be like Social Security numbers, every American gets a semi-automatic weapon when they are born

I posted it because it happened in Dallas and I thought it might not make the national news. Notice I didn't say a word about the shooter's race I simply quoted the news article.. Why you so sensitive Brah?

The reality is there has always been crime, shooting and murders in America. That's just the human reality. Obviously this story is more local for you and probably made your local news but is there something about this shooting that stands out from all the other shootings or killing that took place yesterday, or the past month across the country?

You're correct to be suspicious of the OP's motives, but I didn't see anything racist or antagonistic against black people in his OP.

And if no one had cars no one would die in car wrecks either. North Koreans don't have guns an their government isn't afraid of them. They also don't have many cars or much of anything including food. I guess NK is a better place to live.:thinking:

The issue is that when a firearm is at hand, the chance of a situation turning deadly goes up.

It's not quite as simple as more guns=more deaths, since it matters what type of guns they are, and how they're distributed.

For example, pistols tend to be more of a problem because they're more likely to be carried around. If two jackasses get into a fight in a bar and they each have a hunting rifle sitting at home somewhere, that doesn't do much to turn the situation deadly. But if one or both is actually carrying a gun, or even just has one in the glove compartment of his car out in the parking lot, the risk goes way up.

Similarly, if you have a lot of guns per capita, but they tend to be in large collections and most households don't have one, then the chance of one being on hand to turn a particular situation deadly is lower than if they're widely distributed.

And, of course, on average they tend to be less likely to be used to kill people if they're owned by women, old people, wealthy people, highly educated people, and other lower-violent-crime demographics.
