21 to 32 trillion

"Duh......Rich peeps haz like 12 or 32 gazillion dollars or sumthin, hidden away like da skwirls!"

Fucking AMAZING!

Here's some anti-capitalist moron claiming he has "compiled information" from the confidential records of banks, financial establishments, etc. And he has deduced that somewhere between $21-32 trillion is held by "the super rich" in offshore accounts.... Well I guess they MUST be super rich, if there is an $11 trillion margin of error! Does it happen to occur to you, as a thought in your little simple mind, that such a wide-ranging estimate indicates the data is not all that accurate? In fact, it appears to be nothing more than an under-educated GUESS. Now this is not the fault of the anti-capitalist, he did TRY to compile data honestly, but the darn laws against disclosing people's actual finances to complete strangers... dammit! But even though he couldn't obtain the ACTUAL info... we can certainly trust his estimate, because beyond his being an anti-capitalist, he is totally honest and incapable of telling a lie! He did a study!1!!

Look Don, we're (mostly) grown-ups here, we know there is a tremendous amount of wealth tucked away in overseas banks and investments. This is primarily from people who are not keen on the idea of paying half their money to the US tax man, if they bring the money home. Now, as long as we have anti-capitalists running government, vowing to sock it to the rich, because the rich don't deserve their wealth... well, these people are going to continue to leave their money right where it is. So there are two options here... 1) Elect a government that is PRO-capitalist. 2) Get rid of the 4th amendment and seize their property! Being that you are an anti-capitalist who doesn't really give a shit about the constitution, I can guess which option you prefer.

this is the estimated amount of money held by the super rich in offshore accounts...

oh well

Isn't it great that, as these covers are slowly stripped away, we find we were right all along. And the people who have allowed it to happen, politicians, accountants, presidents, kings and queens actually DO despise the common man.
We need to name and shame them. Every last one. Lets start with the Murdochs and the Koch brothers. The internet belongs to everyone. Will someone start a Wikileaks type of site?
Or would you rather just sit back and let them take more?

The sum of money is only indicative of how much tax has been avoided. Tax that you and I have to make up to finance our respective societies. If you wish to dispute the figure all well and good, but will it make you feel better if it is proven? Or will you stick your fingers in your ears and sing lalalalalalala I cant hear you?

mmmmmmmmmmmm that will take them how many lifetimes to spend?

I sure wish they would start spending a little bit of in here to spur on the economy.

I guess they really dont like the USA very much

Ah... yes... AVOIDED and not EVADED! There is the KEY! Most every American who has ever paid tax, will "avoid" as much taxation as possible. If a deduction or credit can be claimed, most people will claim it if they know about it. Not many people will simply send the amount of their tax liability without factoring deductions. In fact, about 48% of us have enough credits and deductions, our liability is nil. Does that mean those people are also not paying their fair share?

I'm not sticking my fingers in my ears, just raising dubious doubt about the accuracy of the information. With an estimate between $21 and 32 trillion, it is clear this idiot really has NO IDEA how much, he is simply venturing a GUESS. But because this plays into the meme of the left, you idiots will parade this around like it's the fucking Gospel! Well here's one for ya... I believe, if we also count actual active working foreign capital investment, the figure might be closer to $50 trillion! SO FUCKING WHAT? Even if it's $100 trillion, or whatever comes after trillions... what difference does it make? This is not taxable income earned in the US, so it's not subject to US income taxation! Is there something about that which is skipping comfortably over your pinheads?

You can't confiscate people's wealth! You can only tax their incomes earned inside your borders, or returned to your country. Like I said, the two options you have here, if you want to get your hands on this money, is to elect a pro-capitalist government who will encourage these people to bring their money home and invest it here, OR... you can abolish the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Those are the only two options, you can't tax wealth....only income.

The rich only like the USA for what they can get out of it.

yeah these level of rich clowns dont give a rats ass about any government.

The USA is just one of many they use.

how I wish the people who really DO CARE about our country would stop worshiping these sociopaths

I think you will find that this is about the super rich of the world. Now remember last lesson, we discovered that America is just a small part of the world. I really thought you might have remembered that.So your constitution is somewhat irrelevant.

You're such a patriot, rube. Defending tax cheats. Classic!

Oh, okay... so what is your plan? Do we form a world coalition to go steal this wealth?

how I wish the people who really DO CARE about our country would stop worshiping these sociopaths

Well we tried that. In 2008, we elected an anti-capitalist who promised to soak the rich and make them really pay their fair share.... do you remember that?

What has resulted? Other than, more capitalists socking away fortunes in offshore accounts?

We tried to tell you this would be a detrimental plan for the economy, but you insisted the rich must pay!

Now, we have discovered, the "rich people" happen to be the ones who make things we need, and when we go buy those things now, we are discovering they cost a whole lot more than they did before we were attacking capitalism. We've also found that "rich people" create most of the jobs, because they have the income to actually pay another person's salary. Since we've gone anti-capitalist, we are finding the "rich people" simply aren't hiring new people. In fact, they are continuing to reduce payrolls by eliminating jobs.

So we have to start looking at this from the perspective of; do YOU really care about the country? Is your political ideology so important you are willing to destroy capitalism and watch the systematic downfall of society in the wake, or do you love your country more? Is it perhaps more important to set your ideology aside for the time being, so that capitalism can flourish instead of decline, and create some actual jobs and prosperity again?

You first fallacy, rich people create jobs. You cling to this myth.

"Rich people" were the culprits in the crash, imbecile.

Don't pretend that Obama's election caused this. The rich have been going offshore for decades, and did during the "blue jean" years as well.

It's a problem. The best idea should not be giving them more loopholes to take advantage of to try to lure them back here. The rich have so many advantages over average taxpayers that it's not even worth comparing.
