21 to 32 trillion

this is the estimated amount of money held by the super rich in offshore accounts...

oh well

Can you imagine how much higher the nation's revenue would be if this money was taxed?

Ah... yes... AVOIDED and not EVADED!

No, Dicksee, it's evaded. They put their money in tax havens so they don't have to pay taxes on it. Period.

Our nation has the lowest effective tax rate in fifty years. Isn't it time we did something about it?

Dixie evades paying taxes himself. He will not undertand your logic.

I knew the USA's time was limited when we became a debtor nation and went to a a consumer spending based economy.
It was just a matter of time.

You first fallacy, rich people create jobs. You cling to this myth.

Well let's just take this from a basic logical standpoint.

IF you have enough 'wealth' to pay for another person's salary, insurance, benefits, etc. You are probably not a 'typical' middle-income person. You are certainly not a 'poor' person. You do at least have enough to provide for yourself, and to offer enough to provide for someone else, and perhaps even their families. Now, if you hire 10 people, you are at least 10x better off than most, who pretty much live paycheck to paycheck.

I don't see anything mythological or mystic about this.... seems like something even a moron could grasp, but you seem to be having trouble.

No, trouble, I read and know it is a fallacy that rich people create jobs. Most small business owners, starting out, are not rich. These are the job creators.

Umm dude Bush crashed the eocnomy BEFORE Obama was elected

Uhm dood.... and your guy got elected with the promise to bring it back! We followed his plan! We've currently spent more money that every other president in history combined, to try and rejuvenate the economy, and we've now resorted to doing back-flips over 1% growth. Nothing has worked as planned... the jobs have continued to decline, in spite of blustered-up claims of job's "saved" by Obama. You continue to lie and distort what is happening out there in the real world, where people are living this every day.

It's not 2008 anymore. The election is in November... just a few months away. You have no results to show for the Keynesian idiocy this man espoused, but you insist that we give him 4 more years to fix all the problems. If some of his ideas had panned out, if we weren't continuing to tank economically, and if we weren't $16 trillion in debt and growing.... MAYBE we could do that? But I just don't believe this nation can afford 4 more years like the ones we just had.

And the rube's answer is to elect the tax cheat.

:rofl2:

Well we tried that. In 2008, we elected an anti-capitalist who promised to soak the rich and make them really pay their fair share.... do you remember that?

What has resulted? Other than, more capitalists socking away fortunes in offshore accounts?

We tried to tell you this would be a detrimental plan for the economy, but you insisted the rich must pay!

Now, we have discovered, the "rich people" happen to be the ones who make things we need, and when we go buy those things now, we are discovering they cost a whole lot more than they did before we were attacking capitalism. We've also found that "rich people" create most of the jobs, because they have the income to actually pay another person's salary. Since we've gone anti-capitalist, we are finding the "rich people" simply aren't hiring new people. In fact, they are continuing to reduce payrolls by eliminating jobs.

So we have to start looking at this from the perspective of; do YOU really care about the country? Is your political ideology so important you are willing to destroy capitalism and watch the systematic downfall of society in the wake, or do you love your country more? Is it perhaps more important to set your ideology aside for the time being, so that capitalism can flourish instead of decline, and create some actual jobs and prosperity again?

Really?

You warned us about how greedy capitalists, who already horde their wealth to the detriment of this country, would demonstrate levels of greed unprecedented in this country if we elected someone who might try and hold them accountable for their greed?

You warned us about how greedy RightWingers would put their own selfish greed ahead of whats best for the fellow citizens of the country that afforded them the chance to be come so wealthy?

What you have here is some clever semantics propaganda. "Rich people create jobs." Okay...not ALL rich people create ALL jobs... therefore, this statement is false. Probably not even MOST rich people create jobs. I would say it's a small number of individuals who are wealthy, who will create jobs. However, the corporations they work for, and businesses they are in, will indeed create jobs. IF they are so motivated. Lower taxation is a motivator.

Show me someone who is responsible for the payroll of more than 10 people, and I'll show you someone who is probably not living a middle-class lifestyle. A person who is able to pay their own self an income, and have enough remaining to pay another person's income, is not poor. Most middle-class families struggle trying to pay an insurance premium or property tax liability when it's due... they could never afford to pay the salary of someone else. It doesn't take a lot of genius to understand this, it's pretty basic stuff.

they have enough to pay 10 employees because the 10 employees make them that money..

see how that works

No, I told you that "rich people" aren't stupid, and would not just sit there and let a socialist take their wealth.

I was correct.

I also said that capitalists would hoard their resources and take their marbles home for a while.

They have.

I am now saying, our economy will not grow and prosper until we get rid of anti-capitalists in government and replace them with pro-capitalists.

I am right again.

Nope, the system is broken, the capitalism we have today, venture capitalism is the reason.

LOL - yeah, this is such a "new" phenomenon.

We never saw the rich taking their money overseas during the "blue jean" years...
