For many Iraqis, it is hard to appreciate the positive developments when unemployment is rampant, with more than one in three young people jobless, according to the World Bank and the International Labor Organization. There are few private-sector jobs, which means that most people seek government positions. But there are not enough of those to go around for Iraq’s fast-growing population.

About a quarter of Iraqis live at or below the poverty line, according to Iraq’s Planning Ministry.

The intel really wasn't a failure.

It was spotty. Colin Powell's aide said he was given a "chinese menu" of intel and asked to "make the case" for war.

The intel was cherrypicked, and used for an agenda. I didn't know a single conservative who wasn't 100% behind that war. The American Left was 100% correct about it. Totally vindicated, 20 years later.

It wasn't an intelligence failure when you cheered Bush on and made up lie after lie to support his invasion. For how many years after were you still insisting that Iraq had WMD??????

The US has been in Iraq for over 100 years. Before WWI the US had a domestic oil only policy. The British agreed to share Iraqi oilfields with the US is we saved their imperial ass in WWI.

What does that have to do with an illegal invasion of that country? One that turned out to be a complete clusterfuck.

The US is stealing the oil from Syria as we type. That's what we do. Something like 67% of Americans supported the US theft of Iraq. Everyone seems to forget how excited they were watching bombs and missiles on TV blowing up the infrastructure of Iraq. Now you get mad when Russia does it to keep nato missiles off their border.

When Sadaam was in power, women wore western clothes if they wanted to, and worked outside the homes. They went to college. drove cars and had rights. When we invaded, I subscribed to 3 blogs written by people in Baghdad. What we did to them was repulsive, but they had Bush's oil.
