While it's very hard to even read patriot66's post due to lack of punctuation and grammar and poor spelling .... really, I normally don't comment on that, but his post was very bad...but I think I figured out what he was saying....he's blaming Gosnell on pro-choice people. No, he's wrong.
The reason Gosnell got patients is because the harder it is to get an abortion, the more expensive it is and the fewer providers there are; and the more expensive it is the longer it takes women to save the money so their abortions are later in the pregnancy. At that point, they had no option but Gosnell - cheaper, would do later abortions. He was a butcher, but what option did they have?
It's the anti-choice people that have driven so many doctors out of doing abortions. Fewer doctors doing abortions, cost goes up and butchers like Gosnell look good.
We need abortions to be safe, legal, inexpensive. I'd also prefer they be rare - I would love if every kid was taught about birth control and if no one ever got raped or molested and if no woman ever got pregnant by a man who then deserted her, leaving her with her existing kids and no way to afford the new one. Oh, a perfect world would be wonderful!
But everything the anti-choicers do works against this - they are against teaching birth control in the schools; they are against affordable birth control; they don't even like some of the forms of birth control; they don't support women who have kids with funding for child programs or day care.
Don't blame Gosnell on pro-choicers. He's a direct result of the anti-choice movement that has so restricted the number of abortion providers and that has raised the cost of them.
