No, I do not put my produce in those plastic tear-off-the-roll bags. I put produce in the tote bin that I use rather than bags.
And no, those produce bags are not the same as the grocery bags. The grocery bags are tougher and have the molded in loops for hand carrying. Those loops are what allow animals, especially birds to get themselves wrapped up and entangled.
As for frozen food, most of the frozen food I buy comes in pasteboard boxes that go in the recycling bin when empty. Of the few items I buy that come in bags, the bags get cut up into smaller pieces that birds can't get tangled in.
So enjoy your guilt all by yourself.
You earned it by being such a lazy, self-absorbed prick who won't even take the tiny amount of effort to bag his own groceries into reusable cloth bags or containers in order to lessen the suffering of wildlife, because of your apathy and lack of concern for anything but the convenience of your own lazy ass.
BTW, this is what I take to the grocery store to put my groceries in....
They're perfect. They fit right in the cart's basket, hold plenty of items, it's easier to carry one tote than several bags, it lasts for years and years and more importantly, it totally eliminates the need for plastic grocery bags.
