GM to build 2013 Cadillac XTS in China

Not one single American job is being moved to China as a result of this decision by GM. Some of you people just can't read and others need a fucking nap.

Yes there are! Is GM capable of making the cars in america? If so, then there are american jobs being lost if GM uses governemnt loans to produce goods in another country. Just because you choose to ignore the obvious does not mean it doesn't exist

Bullshit, freako. Those cars are being built for the Chinese economy. Were those cars to be built in the US the labor costs alone would make export to China impossible and not to mention the other costs of American manufacturing, power, real estate, management, etc. In addition, the cost of transportation for each car this country would produce and being exported to China is approximately $1,400 per unit. Again making the ultimate cost in the Chinese market prohibitive. The GM profits will ultimately make their way back to this country but the cars, as stated, will remain in China whose market they are designed. But, if anyone wants to go and get one I am certain that can be arranged.

if they couldn't build them in america, they shouldn't get the loans, you fucking traitor

Are you seriously suggesting we could manufacture cars in the US, ship them to China, pay the import tarrifs and compete with cars made in China price wise? You are either an idiot or a liar.

The American taxpayers have already profited handsomely for those "loans" you're pissing down your legs about and we don't need any cars sitting around in this country that were built for the Chinese market but can't be sold there now due to exorbitant labor, manufacturing and transportation costs and not to mention the VAT or tariffs the Chinese add onto imported cars and goods. So to address your concerns directly, NO, GM would not be capable of producing those cars in America. If they could do so profitably they would do so don't you think? While I agree that many American companies pulled up roots and moved overseas to the great expense of the society they were leaving and the market they expected to retain loyalties I don't believe for one moment this is one of those. NOBODY is pulling up roots and NO AMERICAN is losing any job due to this decision by GM. Your paranoia is showing.

I do not disagree that the costs would be higher to the people in China. The point Gator is that the left continually harps on companies who produce overseas instead of at home when many are producing product for the same reason you mentioned above. It reduces transport costs, labor costs etc... it is the very reason companies outsource. So which is it going to be for the left... that outsourcing is bad or that it is good? Or is it just ok for GM?

The taxpayers are currently deep in a hole with the money given to GM. The stock is far underneath the value needed to recoup our 'investment'.

yes, either you support the notion that it is ok for companies to shift jobs overseas for economic reasons or you do not. Which is it?

Bullshit Simpleton. The part you are leaving out is the market. American companies that moved manufacturing to China for the north american market are greedy traitors who sold out the 99% for short term profits.
American companies who build factories in China for the chinese market are competing with chinese compaines for chinese market share, and helping our trade deficit with China at the same time.

You have a great understanding here, Rune. I don't get it when jerks like freako purposely ignorize themselves with made up bullshit and half assed innuendo. Causes great disappointment in some fellow Americans.

LMAO... thanks for proving your hypocrisy.

half assed innuendo? Do elaborate.

You both are being entirely hypocritical, expounding on the economic reasons GM decided to manufacture there rather than in the US only to then criticize other companies (and call them traitors) for doing the exact same thing.

No circles, please. Idiot.
