Ann Romney Has No Dignity?

Yet you have stated clearly that Ann Romney has nothing in common with other stay at home moms. That is where you are 100% wrong and you are in no place to pass that judgement since you haven't been there. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are just angry and venting that anger against Ann Romney in a child like manner. So enough of the tantrum. Try acting like an adult again.

She absolutely does not. I am in every position to make that judgement. I have every idea of what I'm talking about.

The fact is and always will be that your average stay at home mom and your average working mom have far more in common with each other than they ever will with Ann Romney. Ann Romney knows this, which is exactly why she leapt for joy at the chance to reignite the mommy wars and in fact, called the opportunity to divide women an early birthday present.

I'd just like to say how wonderful it is that posters like SF and Damo have so quickly and seemlessly made the transition to full-blown Romney-apologist mode.

Damo had a brief foray into Gingrich apologism, but it's good to see his pragmatic side win the day...

By all means, show me where I have apologized for Romney? Or is the liberal world now equating 'apologizing' to 'correcting liberal lies'?

Didn't you predict this?

She didn't make Rosen look like an ass. Rosen is a not very intelligent democratic operative...though perhaps I repeat myself. I'm not mad.

We are at record highs of economic inequality. There has been a class war waged, and won, with only one side having taken the field.

I am interested solely in the class aspects of this argument, and the fact that I even want to acknowledge class is what angers so many on the right who really want to believe we live in a classless society. Which of course, we do not.

Then you should change your language a bit. Adopting elitism and telling me that two women making the same career choice have nothing in common because I am "putting on airs" pretty much tells me what you value. You actually believe that people with money are "better" when you automatically take that tack.

Dismissing the valued contribution of another for having money, while at the same time telling others they "put on airs" if they compare themselves to them...

You are trying to have your cake and eat it too.

No you do not. You know nothing about what it takes to be a mother. You know nothing about the experiences Ann Romney and others have gone through as mothers. You are not qualified at all to make any judgements about what they have in common.

This is the mommy wars you are playing. It's how the right keeps their class war from being noticed. Well, it's one of the many ways. I don't think it will work in this time of extreme inequality though. We'll see, but honestly, I am not worried.

I'd love to take credit, but it's kind of like saying "the sun will rise tomorrow," or that "something kind of bad is going to happen to Campbell on Mad Men this season...."

OMG you watch Mad Men? Do you think he is going to try and off himself? Last night was amazing wasn't it?

Can you show me a time I actually supported any of the candidates without saying, "I will support whomever the candidate is."? Because I'll tell you that has always been my position. I have told you why I believe that this President needs to be a one-termer and that I will support whomever the candidate is.

The fact is, I was responding to your hysterical bleating about how Rosen had personally insulted your wife. She did not. Period.

As for me changing my language, I don't have to. I am not on television talking up the Dem talking points. The dems will never be talking about the things I am. And I highly doubt the five people I piss off here are going to affect the election one way or the other.

I am not the one that fired a shot... you did. You are the one playing class warfare. You are the one attacking someone for their choice in life and you are the one making proclamations about what Ann Romney has/has not experienced relative to other moms. Your attacks are baseless and quite pathetic.

Last night was incredible - some of those writers just operate on a whole different level. I do think they're setting up a possible suicide or something....

See that? In one fell swoop, you explained why you think apologism for Romney is okay, and also why you feel anything goes (see: tax hypocrisy thread) when it comes to criticizing Obama.

Not great for credibility, but I admire your honesty here...

No actually, it was Ann Romney who fired that shot.

As for my playing class warfare, of course anyone who ever points out the class war that has been successfully waged by the rich against the rest of us, is using class warfare. It's all very Orwellian and you guys have it all figured out, I know. I don't think it'll work anymore though.

Not really, only a person who says in one breath that they aren't voting for Obama, but in the next will desperately defend his direct hypocrisy would see it that way. I believe your stance in the tax hypocrisy thread is one of the most simplistic and childlike I have ever seen from you, and it makes me a bit sad. Believe me, I would point out this type of hypocrisy with a Republican President as well, and spent 8 years telling you why I hated the previous President...

It isn't partisan for me. I will support whomever the republicans put forward, solely because it will be the best chance to remove what I consider to be the worst President since Carter and Bush.

Oh I read your horseshit. She has four maids but they aren't paid enough to do all that work. I thought that was hysterical.

of course she has staff. Her husband is mind-boggling wealthy.

But more to the point - do you agree with Mitt that women who stay at home to raise children should go to work to get "dignity"?

I notice you and yours are running from that like your hair is on fire.

Stay at home mom's have no dignity - Mitt Romney. Why I'm gonna get it put on a t shirt.

you're outright distorting what mitt said to the point of dishonesty. he never said stay at home mom's have no dignity. he merely said he believes the federal government should assist stay at home mom's if they want to work.

nice try darla.

My stance on the tax thread is that there are much bigger fish to fry w/ Obama; the tax issue is a non-issue. Symbolic BS that only haters make anything out of (and good golly, are very few outside of this board even talking about it).

Your calling it "childlike" is fun and all, but it doesn't really distract from the fact that you are unable to discern between voluntary individual action and mandated collective action.

Huh?

He said they need to get jobs so they can experience the dignity of work.

And it will not do well for them. They are mad that she made Hillary Rosen look like an ass, and are now trying to make it look like she meant something different. Stay at home parents are valuable, and if that is the career choice of a parent it adds to society. To say she didn't work as a lawyer and therefore is valueless is a disgusting projection. I understand that the Democrats don't value my wife, but they are sure happy to bring her up when they want to dismiss her value and tell me that it is "giving myself airs" to compare two women who chose the same profession solely because they believe that he is richer than I am and therefore holds "more value" as a human.

This cracks me up, democrats don't value your wife, what a crock, and it looks like you ate this pile of road apples up with relish.

I know you aren't this stupid, seriously.
