I'm actually starting to see the appeal of a Romney candidacy. I know Romney isn't the conservative we wanted, but he is still head and shoulders above Obama. I'm already on record saying, if Newt doesn't pull out, Santorum can't beat Romney, and at this point, it would still be an upset. If Santorum can win AL and MS and that forces Newt to pull out, then he has a long-shot chance to beat Romney in a brokered convention. Otherwise, the GOP has Romney, like it or not.

Now let me explain what is going to happen with either Romney or Santorum...

With Romney, the Liberals are going to continue to attack Rush, Contraception, Social Conservatism, and Mitt will have to dodge the many attempts to catch him in a sound byte, either defending social conservatism or running from it. They will also bash on Romney for being one of the 1%ers. Romney worries me because he doesn't seem to get just how dirty these bastards are going to get and how low they will stoop, and he tends to sound like he is always apologizing or trying to get you to understand him. In any event, social conservatism and Rush Limbaugh, are what the Liberals are going to run on, because they have nothing else.

With Santorum, he will be painted either as a religious wacko rightie who wants to outlaw contraception and chain women to the kitchen sink... or he will be picked apart on how he voted as a senator, which wasn't always conservative. Again, the issue is going to be social conservatism and Rush, because liberals don't have anything else to run on.

The question remains, which one of these cats can handle what the liberals have in store. I personally think Santorum or Newt would do well, but if the establishment and elites want to go down swinging for Romeny, so be it! We'll go with Romney, and watch what unfolds... it's still going to be about social conservatism and Rush, you wait and see!

Oh no doubt, that's basically what I just said... social conservatism and Rush Limbaugh... those are the issues the left will choose to make this about. The misnomer here, is the moderate thinking that Romney will do better because he appeals to the moderates and Santorum is too 'religiously right' for them... but the issue will be social conservatism and Rush Limbaugh regardless of who is nominated. Which will liberals do better with... Santorum, who has already had this kind of shit hurled at him, or Romney, who will get roped into spending all his time explaining himself? Either way, we are going to have to face the liberals and social conservatism and Rush Limbaugh, there is no way around that.

Well, here's the thing pinhead, those "white trash social conservatives" represent a huge chunk of the GOP base. My suggestion would be for you to come to grips with that fact, and realize, your secular god-hating libertarianism is not winning the day... your candidate was Ron Paul, and he is getting trounced. So you need to back off the social conservatives, and realize this election is about more than social conservative issues, or ANTI-social conservative issues. If you can't do that, the liberals will exploit it to their advantage, and you'll be doing the Obama Victory Dance in November, like the idiot you are.

Let me tell you the only scenario in which Obama is ENSURED a victory in 2012.

First off, Santorum and Romney die in plane crashes, and Newt has a heart attack, leaving the GOP with Ron Paul. Ron Paul then proposes we disband the military and legalize pot and heroin, which will be taxed, and we will pay off the national debt. Obama triangulates common sense conservative issues and proposes a Balanced Budget Amendment, and wins in a landslide.

Other than some bizarre scenario like this, Obama is certainly NOT ensured a win. There is also the scenario of transplanting Newt Gingrich's brain into Obama, but that one is a little far fetched.

Oh yeah, I know... just like drilling for more domestic oil won't help ease our dependency on foreign oil... I'm a fool to consider that feasible. Liberals have stayed relatively silent on Obamas all-too-apparent non liberal policies like....
1) signing the NDAA to capture, imprison, and torture american citizens on american soil (but he promised not to use it, kind of like he promised not to bust med MJ dispensaries)
2)extended and expanded both middle east conflicts
3)promised to close gitmo, then reneged by increasing the usage of gitmo
4) way overspent the Bush admin causing the liberals to claim that it wasn't enough, even after they whined about Bush spending like a drunken sailor

So conservatives need to ask is Romney being selected just to oust a so called Liberal president, or
are Liberals helping select Romney because Obama wasn't Liberal enough and they feel Romney is the ticket
