Another Obama Record!… The Average Age of US Car on the Road Is 10.8 Years

Yeah the gov owns a lot of the equity, libtards don't realize that is still the American people propping up gm. And with no interest or guarantee.

The Volt is the most retarded car ever. It was a ~25 mile range (based on actual tests), but OMG it has a backup gasoline engine that delivers an extra 100 miles. Never mind the fact that the gasoline engine defeats the entire purpose of the vehicle.

What an absolute piece of shit car. If you really want a domestic electric car, consider the Ford Focus EV. It has a much better cooling system and you'll get around 100 miles from a charge.

The Volt is garbage. There are easier ways to legitimize your Messiah's shitty economic policies than dropping $45k on the modern equivalent of a Pinto.

Nice rant other than being entirely wrong.

Here is the verdict from Consumer Reports:

"Not only has Consumer Reports' test car been coming in at the low end of the electric-only mileage range -- 23 to 28 miles, not 25 to 50 miles as billed -- before the gasoline power kicks in, but CR had to pay over list to the get the car. It says it had to pay $48,700 -- full price plus options and a $5,000 windfall to the dealer."

LOL, it's actually much worse than I remembered.

THe volt is so overpriced dealers sell it to each other to inflate sales figures. And they still only sell 5,000 with the lying. Only trolls like legion dune support it. And he buys drug dealer cars used from the Gestapo.

Shocking none of the libtards owns a volt. Not even rich fence repair boy! Typical libral though, he touts benefits of buying american! then buys his wife a Mercedes for the snobbish status symbol value.

What a fascinating thread.

Who is the rich fence repair boy again? I would be very interested in finding out how he got rich by repairing fences?

The car, after rebate cost 32.5, not 45. Your electric result was from a cold weather test, cold batteries perform poorly. That doens't make the car garbage.
As to the gas side, there is good logic behind this. The average american drives 12K miles a year, or well under 40 miles a day. Therefor in every day use mode, the Volt can run electric only for the average person, most of the time. If one were to need to drive further, though, they readily can using the gas engine charger. Even that you rated incorrectly at 100 miles, the actual range on gas only is 2.5 times that.

When an entire post is built upon gross exagaeration, it does little to bolster your point.

That would be me. I am an Architechural Metalsmith. I do not repair fences though I do sometimes do historical restorations of significant ironworks.
Nor am I exceptionaly wealthy, though I do own everything except my home outright. My home has one more year to go.

Where in the Consumer Report does it say anything about the test being performed in cold weather?

I am aware that some independent review reached the same conclusion as CR: the Volt sucks. But, again I ask, where in the Consumer Report does it say anything about their test being performed in cold weather?

http://content.usatoday.com/communi...ts-pans-range-of-chevrolet-volt-nissan-leaf/1

The CR states, "Not only has Consumer Reports' test car been coming in at the low end of the electric-only mileage range -- 23 to 28 miles, not 25 to 50 miles as billed -- before the gasoline power kicks in, but CR had to pay over list to the get the car. The range of the Volt is 23 to 28 miles, period. It says nothing about cold weather.
