If he's stashing money in a numbered account in the Cayman Islands ... he has something to hide. This is just enough dirty double dealing to provide him with the same treatment Scott Walker is getting. This alone should bar his crooked repulican ass from getting into office.

Read your post, which I responded to, until the point sinks in.

It could be that Kerry was not a business stooge :)

So it's okay for Democrats to make OR inherit money, but not okay for a Republican to do either? Wow, you liberals really are impossible to work with.

Edit: hell, Kerry didn't even inherit money. He married into it. In your fucked up view of the world, I'd think that would be even worse than inheriting!

Kerry did inherit money, being a beneficiary of trusts from his mother's side, the Forbes family. When he married Teresa Heinz, they had a pre-nup and all the money was separate.

do you have a source for the pre-nup?

Teresa Heinz and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., were married in 1995. Kerry's assets at the time were a few million dollars. (Click here for Kerry's Senate financial disclosure form for 1995.) Heinz's assets at the time were reportedly around half a billion dollars, which she'd inherited from her late husband, Sen. John Heinz, R-Pa., heir to the ketchup fortune. Unlike many other married couples, Heinz and Kerry kept their premarital assets separate. Much of Teresa Heinz's inheritance was no doubt tied up in trusts, but a substantial sum must have been unencumbered, because she had Sen. Kerry sign a prenuptial agreement. "Everybody has a prenup," Heinz explained to Lisa DiPaulo, who profiled her sympathetically in Elle.
