What is your opinion? Mormons Christians?

????....I don't chide you about your debating skills.....I just ask you why you don't use them...........

Seriously, you have failed to enter into any debate other than unsupported claims. I dont call that a debate so thus far, you have no debate skills to discuss.

dude.....no one is going to take your denials seriously in this thread.....there's no reason to put the effort into it.......Mormons are Christians......pretending that they aren't is the first instance of your ignorance.....pretending that Christians don't think they are is the second.....what more do you need discussed?.....

You accused me of being bigoted, I asked you to defend that. Now you are going on about ignorance? Two different things. What supports your claim that I have been bigoted?

When my ex-wife's grandfather died, the funeral was conducted by a baptist minister. He started off by telling us all that he was not sure that V. had been saved or even believed in Jesus. He then went on to talk about his very vagabond life style. V. used to travel to Venezuela a lot, always had a shite ton of cash on him, and months after he died we found out he was not only married to my wife's step grandmother, but also married a young woman from Venezuela and moved her and her kids to Miami. After the sermon about V. most likely being in hell, the minister then went on to attack members of the family. He did his little spiel on homosexuality (V.'s son is gay), his spiel on living together in sin, (My ex-wife's sister was living with a man) and the horrors of being an atheist (directed at me). It was a vile and despicable way to send off a man that when I knew him was a kind and generous, if not somewhat eccentric guy. I once referred to V. as the only living fictional character I had ever met. After the sermon, I walked up to the minister, who weighed in somewhere in the lower 400's and told him he forgot one group. He asked who that was. I replied, "The Gluttons". Fortunately for all involved, he did not show up after the funeral for I am sure there would have been to little food for him and the rest of us.

I'm glad, that in a family of ministers, I have nothing but positive examples of religion. Strange that I would abandon it for my own views.

two different things, perhaps....a third possibility is intentional misrepresentation......however I can only tell the difference if I can read your mind.....if you are merely unaware you are ignorant......if you are unaware even though the truth has been pointed out to you, you are bigoted......if you are aware but continue to post the same shit, you are dishonest...........are you ignorant or dishonest, only you can tell us for sure......

Again, we are not discussing ignorant or dishonest... You called me Bigoted! Where is your argument that I am bigoted.

You are either helplessly addled by ADD or your are miserably failing at an attempt to change the subject to deflect from your invalid claim.

okay.....I will change my argument......you're simply dimwitted and unable to read what I post......

You're walking a fine plagiarizing line. "There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know (Rummy)

obviously he overlooked "the things we don't know that we pretend we know".......

I went to a funeral last night, my friends brother. He was an alcoholic and was also addicted to cocaine. The family was very open at the funeral about his addiction. His sister read a letter he had written before his death to be read at the funeral, he apologized to all he had hurt because if his lifestyle, everyone in the Chapel was crying.

Then the cousin stood up, he is a missionionary who also was addicted to cocaine until he was "saved", he then started to give his personal testimony to Jesus Christ and asked everyone to stand and committ themselves to Jesus. The discomfort in the room was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. I heard one lady whisper, this is so inaapropriate.

It got worse, when no one stood, he called out a Baptist minister, this gentle man has a Doctorate in Divinity, he had spoken earlier and had told a personal story about the deceased and the only mention he made of his beliefs was that R. was now in the arms of his Savior and sited a Bible verse. The minister did not stand and also did not comment, I felt bad for him having been put on the spot, but it was obvious he had already given his life to God. The room was so silent you could have heard a pin drop. The cousin finally realized that no one was going to come to God at that moment and he sighed and left the podium, in fact he left the funeral.

I am always horrified that some people use a funeral to "preach", I feel it is not the time to ask people to come to Jesus. I felt so bad for the family. I felt so bad for all those in attendance.

That is just awful. And the sad thing is, he believes he's doing God's work.

I went to a Catholic funeral last night. The priest did a wonderful homily on the deceased. He only spoke about God in the context of her life. He spoke of the beauty of this woman and her brave fight against cancer. He gave comfort to her family and friends. It was very uplifting and positive.

The really freaky thing he mentioned is that both her nieces had dreams that she was an angel on the night of her death! Both her nieces are under the age of 13. How does one explain that? It perplexes me and it is things like this that keeps me from going full blown atheist.

1. ALL ORGANIZED RELIGONS ARE A CULT. Look up CULT in the dictionary.
2. I agree the temples are beautiful.
3. proselytising is legal most everywhere. Where it isn't ... there is a dictator afraid of losing his power.

Cult is simply a mis spelling. Proselytising may well be legal. It is also legal to disagree with it. Well, it is where I come from. It should not, in my opinion, be legal for people to preach against the existing cultures of a society which evangelists of all colours do even though they might not be fully aware of the dangers they bring with them.
Many religious buildings are beautiful and majestic. If ever you cross the Atlantic, assuming you have not already done so, you should visit some our wonderful cathedrals. York, Salisbury, Canterbury to name but three.
The greatest cathedral, however, is the blue blue sky and the soaring mountains. The greatest music is the song of wild birds and the crashing of waves.
No one who ignores the dangers of man's impact upon the earth can possibly be described as having even one ounce of spiritualism.
