PUBS: Romney or bust

imo...there is no other candidate who has a chance of beating obama. romney has a chance. i think it is a 50/50 chance. but put up any other pub candidate and obama wins hands down.

if not, why not.

Yurt, I don't know what you are, repub or dem, you are truly a mystery meat. I can usually tell with most people, but as I've pointed out before, you tend to be all over the map, one day you sound reasonably conservative, the next minute, you are a flaming lib. I've even seen you transform in the middle of a paragraph... never seen anything like that before. But if you do consider yourself "republican" on this, you are the first republican I've met who is supporting Romney. I realize, here in Alabama, there is not going to be a lot of support for a pro-choice Mormon, but you'd think one or two at least... not a soul!

I don't think Romney can win the GOP nomination, unless all the current candidates remain in it to the end. That's just not going to happen, their money will start to dry up, and after Super Tuesday, the writing will be on the wall for most. So, as these candidates drop out, their supporters will shift over to someone else, and guess fucking what? It ain't likely to be Romney. Currently, four people are statistically tied at around 20%. Romney has been campaigning for president for 6 years now, and he still can't break away from the pack. This should tell you all you need to know, the party is not jazzed about Romney, and they are looking for someone else.

As for a "chance to beat Obama" you are also out of your mind. Liberals secretly pray that the GOP will nominate Romney. Rest assured, they already have a dossier on him, and the dirt will start to come out as soon as he wins the nomination. They have saved up shit from the last time he didn't win! Now, you have a guy who is not a conservative, doesn't even understand conservative principles and values, from the most Liberal state in America, and the Democrats will have a mountain of exclusive shit just for him.... and you think that is going to beat Obama? Repeat after me: I'm We Todd Did!

The one he supposedly served papers on while she was dying in the hospital.

The facts are:

1. She served him about 7 months before.
2. She wasn't dying. In fact she's very much alive today.

I love how you lie in a post about people lying about Gingrich. And forgive me if I don't put a whole lot of stock in the memory of a 13 year old child.

i've repeatedly told you i'm independent and lean right. i have no idea why you are still confused.

last i checked, romney was in the lead for the GOP nom. alabama is not the entire USA.

romney can't win unless all candidates remain in it to the end - makes no sense.

people said the same thing about obama this time in 2007. romney is more conservative than obama is a conservative like me. fiscally conservative and liberal, if you will, socially. the pubs are moving away from the staunch social conservative base.

I think it's the constant switching back and forth from being conservative to being liberal.

I realize that, in fact, I acknowledged that when I said it, did you miss that part? Romney is NOT in the lead, he is one of four who are within the margin of error for the lead in the polls. That means three other people are also leading, which means, Romney is NOT in the lead. Following me?

romney can't win unless all candidates remain in it to the end - makes no sense.

WTF, are you retarded or something? If all the candidates remain in it to the end, their votes cancel each other out, and Romney wins the nomination with 28-30%... not 51%... which is the case if there are only two candidates in the race. Do you need to go back to school and take math again? The only way Romney gets enough votes (he's NEVER had over 50% in the polls or 2008 voter totals) is if the other candidates remain in the race. That's not going to happen. If Cain drops out, his supporters still have a vote, they don't just not count anymore. If they shift to Newt, he will be leading Romney by about 10%, If Bachmann and Santorum drop out and their supporters go to Newt, he is then leading Romney by 20-30%... How is Romney going to win then? Romney has demonstrated he can garner about 25-30% of the vote... that's a little more than Ron Paul, but FAR from a plurality. His ONLY hope, is a crowded field.

People said the same thing about Obama? That Obama was the only one to have a chance at beating Obama? You're the one who's not making sense here. I also don't understand your second sentence, I think you must have left out some words. AMERICA is NOT LIKE YOU, YURT! Sorry to break it to you like that, but it's the truth! You don't really have the slightest clue what republicans want or how republicans are, you are just shooting from your emotive hip and hoping you hit something. If the GOP nominates a pro-choice Mormon, Obama will have 4 more years as president. End of discussion.

you are retarded. there is no "switching" back and forth. my views, except for the death penalty, have remained unchanged for years. i am socially liberal, eg, gay marriage if the government is involved in marriage, pro marijuana laws etc....and fiscally conservative. just because you can't comprehend a simple idea that i don't walk lock step with YOUR views, doesn't mean i switch back and forth.

get a clue.

Like I said, I have seen you switch from conservative to liberal in a single paragraph. I've agreed with you on a conservative point, only to have you attack me for it, from a liberal perspective in the following post... You're like the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of politics, we never know which side you'll be on at any given time. This psychological conundrum intrigued me for a while, but I think you are just mentally disturbed. You seem to have this need to be accepted and respected by others, so your viewpoints tend to follow whatever path needs to be followed, in order to garner the most accolades. Your perception is, that others see you as rational, reasonable and wise, and not weak or cowardly.

:palm:

i support gay rights, i don't support the stimulus.

:palm:

that is not switching retard, that is simly stating my beliefs.

I love how you lie in a post about people lying about Gingrich. And forgive me if I don't put a whole lot of stock in the memory of a 13 year old child.

So, she was 13 so she can't figure out that her mother is still alive? Can't remember that her parents were already getting a divorce? Can't comprehend that he was bringing them to see her?

I think this is utter rubbish. Let me put it this way, I don't put much stock in your memory of events you didn't witness and dismiss the actual witnesses of, in fact I put no stock in that.

1. She isn't 13.
2. I don't care what "stock" you put in her memory, the reality is the woman wasn't dying and he didn't server her divorce papers in the hospital while she was.

There is only one person on this thread that has made a misstatement about the circumstances of Newt's first divorce and it isn't me.

Anybody who is 100 percent with either side is a moron. We all new that about Dixie, webtool, bravo-bevis, bfged, and legion troll.
