Oh, you should have seen it. After he said that, he acknowledged that there is no doubt that some politicians "misbehave a bit," and the way he said it really bordered on nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

He's pretty old school on the sexual harassment thing, imo. Think falafel.

I've gotta say, it was interesting watching some of the talking heads on the right, yesterday. O'Reilly said that Americans were getting tired of this kind of "smear campaign," which - if you didn't notice - immediately classifies the women as liars.

And then Hannity was on, talking about how "liberals" always feel the need to take a strong candidate down, and making a big deal about the duration of time from the alleged incident of the latest woman to come forward & her going public (14 years! 14 years! What does that tell you?)

It's just such blatant hypocrisy, from guys whose every word is recorded & out there for everyone to see. 15 or so years ago, it wasn't about smear campaigns or the duration from incident to allegation: it was about a sleazy politician.

I agree that is way too premature to proclaim it is 'just a smear campaign'. Just as it is way too early to proclaim 'Cain is done'. Obviously something happened with the two who got settlements. But given the amount of the settlements, it would APPEAR not to be more than a he said/she said situation that was settled to avoid the legal costs involved of defending the case. Again, do note the word APPEAR. I do not know, I am just guessing. That said, the woman that came forth claiming sexual assault... that is far more troubling as her description was very detailed. Still a he said/she said situation, but assault is obviously a far more serious allegation than harassment. On the premise of innocent until proven guilty, we have to take these with a grain of salt. Given the number of claims, it would seem Cain has a problem.

Three things about this series of women telling there Cain stories bother me.

1) HE has handled it very poorly.
2) The hypocracy of the Republicans who have defended him.
3) And the biggest, he screamed racism continuely comparing himself to C. Thomas.

I love how many R's who attacked president Clinton from the first allegation turn and defend Cain through these now 4 allegations.

I also find it interesting how many people who defended Clinton through many episodes, allowing their "bimbo squad" to trash women after he used his "magic" on them, now will attack this guy before we have all the information.

It did remind me of watching Clinton point his finger at me on TV and tell me how he "did not have sex with 'that woman'"...

I personally don't have an opinion as to his guilt without more information. From what I can tell Bialek is a problematic witness and her story isn't even close to the pattern revealed by the other accusations, but we don't know... I haven't read the other accusations.

I do know if Cain is a quid pro quo kind of a guy that there will be more women than this one that had that experience. I can't see a predator being happy with just one...

Regarding the bold, that's weird. I generally try to refrain from smelling rotten things and I haven't, in all the years that I have lived, felt compelled to smell rotten things for any reason whatsoever. You should seek professional help. The urge to smell rotten things is not a normal response to any stimuli of any nature.

I recall Clinton being attacked for lots of things......his plans for nationalized health care, his foreign policy, his domestic policy......I know that there were claims he had raped women before he was elected.....I also recall a law suit involving Paula Jones......did anyone call for his impeachment prior to his testimony in that trial on the basis of his sexual activities?.......
