Al Qaeda flag was seen flying over Benghazi's courthouse

So which time were you lying...when you claimed it wasn't cause for great concern...

or...when you claimed it was huge statement?

again, there is no dichotomy. you're obviously too simple to understand that a group can make a huge statement, but it's impact may not be cause for great concern. you're also dishonestly characterizing what i said. it is a pity all you have are ad homs and nothing of value to add.

Doesn't look the same to me.

Likely, revolutions never end so cleanly as one would believe. I remain supportive of them and their government and efforts until it can be shown that they are contrary to the reasons for revolution in the first place. I also maintain that it was inevitable that the Ghaddafi would fall. NATO and it's involvment merely expedited such events, they did not cause them.

The trouble was that Gaddafi had a well equipped army and professional soldiers, I really can't see how the TNC could have taken them on without NATO there to destroy the command/control and weapons.

His professional guard may have been 'well equiped' but for months he was busy finding every soldier for hire on the continent to try and hold back the rebels. The rebels won many an engagement with ease and were making great gains in the east and western mountains. This isn't to say NATO didn't expedite the situation. Without the airstrikes the rebellion would still be going on. In the end though, it was certain the Ghadaffi would fall.

It is not doubt an argument that will exercise battle gamers for years to come. However I think Gaddafi would have used all the weapons at his disposal to flatten Benghazi on the opening weekend of the war and stopped the putative rebellion there and then.

But he didn't. He tried initally and several of his pilots straight up desserted. That was what showed me the rebellion was ultiamtely going to be succesful. He couldn't trust his own army or citizens. And if you cannot trust your own subordinates, well, you're fucked.

How come pinheads are so quick to tell us what would have happened if 'this' would have happened or not happened....

Into fortune telling ?.....a little voodoo is it ?....whatever you call it...its bullshit....
