Obama Fail?

I'm sorry but my boyfriend disagrees, and he is way smarter than you.

Krugman is intelligent to be sure, but he has let his partisanship get in the way of his common sense. He is glued to his warped view of Keynes and will not accept that it has failed in the manner in which the idiots in DC keep applying his theory.

Thanks for the clarification. So, the GOP supports further job loss. Great platform.

LMAO.... no, they want a plan that will CREATE jobs. Not simply waste tax payers money by maintaining the status quo until this money runs out and then doing it all over again a year from now.

The 'jobs bill' does not CREATE NEW JOBS.... 90% of it is going to status quo proposals. Meaning we don't LOSE jobs, but we don't GAIN them either. Your nonsense that well we gained jobs because they would otherwise lose them is moronic at best.

If you currently have 9 out of 10 people working and the Jobs bill results in 9 out of 10 people working... you did not gain a job. you just prevented it from going to 8/10

Pick one. You either (1) seriously do not understand the appropriate baseline, in which case my assumption that you are quasi-intelligent is wrong or (2) pretend not to understand the appropriate baseline in which case my assumption that you are a hardcore hack is correct.

Pick one:

1) You are an idiot
2) You are an idiot
3) You have gone full retard

That said.... do explain to the board how we are actually creating new jobs over where we are today. Show us all what an idiot you are again....

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans have voted to kill the $447 billion White House jobs bill despite weeks of barnstorming by President Barack Obama across the country.

Forty-six Republicans joined with two Democrats to delay the plan. The roll call was kept open Tuesday night to allow Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen to vote. But it would have taken 60 votes in the 100-member Senate to keep the legislation alive.

Uhhh, Id call this a Republican fail. They have no plan and kill the only chance. AND this was President Obama's intent, having them kill this plan is clearly a campaign stragety.

But the current system is working beautifully, right...

No, it is not, which is why we do not need more failed attempts. I have no problem spending at this time IF it is done in a manner that will have LONG term benefits rather than simply short term stop gaps that simply push the problem into the future.

Take the entire $450B or so and put it to work in a manner that CREATES new jobs. That lowers the unemployment rate. The rest of the economy would pick up steam in response. Especially if Europe gets their act together.

The spending portion of the bill that will work is infrastructure. You take spending that would have been used on infrastructure in the years 2015-2020 and you spend it today. (note for Keynes to work, you then have to CUT spending in the good years... the part partisan economists like Krugman (and ALL politicians) always ignore.)

So take the $450B and put it to work in that manner. Bridges, roads, dams, communications etc...

The reason the Dems are not proposing this right now is that these projects take time to scale up and they want something that will help their chances to get re-elected. The reason the Reps don't propose it is because they tend to focus solely on tax cuts as the be all end all solution.

Obama will now use Republican opposition as part of a campaign to paint the GOP as obstructionists blocking his efforts to improve the economy while offering no alternative to create jobs.

After the vote, President Obama said in a statement, “Tonight, a majority of United States Senators voted to advance the American Jobs Act. But even though this bill contains the kind of proposals Republicans have supported in the past, their party obstructed the Senate from moving forward on this jobs bill.”

What matters most is that Senate Republicans, in the midst of a jobs crisis and intense public demand for congressional action, killed a credible jobs bill for no apparent reason. Most Americans support the American Jobs Act’s provisions; it enjoys strong support from economists; it includes ideas from both parties; and the CBO found it will even lower the deficit over the next decade.

And despite all of this, literally every Republican in the Senate — including the alleged “moderates” — not only rejected the popular jobs bill, they refused to even let the chamber vote on it at all. That should be the front-page story nationwide this morning.

LOL! It can now be said that the Teabag party is against putting Americans back to work. How's that going to look come election time? This is going to be repeated over and over and over and.... guess what... you just got fucked.

Anyone else remember all the wailing and gnashing of teeth from partisan Righties here when Congressional Democrats dared to vote as one concerted bloc to counter poisonous Rightie legislation?

"Just look at the jack booted thugs marching in lockstep and putting party before the people of this country" they whined.

Funny how we don't see the same type of comments from our "fair & balanced" posters today...I wonder why that is?

Suddenly they aren't concerned with "jack booted thugs voting as one and putting party over principle."

LOL. It's going to be cut up, and the good bits passed. The republicans will get credit for holding back the crap and passing the good, and they didn't even force anybody to poop a cop car to get it done.

:D

Now if they could just get together and pass Glass-Steagal again we'd be better off and the dude who pooped the cop car can go home and recuperate.

They handed Democrats a pretty strong campaign argument, imo.

Really? What's the argument? That we need to spend more trillions on more shovel ready jobs that don't exist? I don't get it... what part of your plan has worked so far? Anything? Has ANYTHING you people done, worked to make things better for Americans? I don't see it! I just fucking don't.... and now you waltz in here and tell me they have a pretty strong campaign argument? Not unless you all plan to transform into Ronald Reagan overnight! ....Which at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see... Liberals will do ANYTHING to cling to power!

pooped a cop car?

OUCH!

Apparently somebody on Wall Street forced this guy to do it:

Hey, the guy you voted for twice created quite a mess, Dix. The original stimulus wasn't supposed to "fix" the economy and get us back to sub-5% employment. And it did create loads of jobs, which y'all never like to acknowledge. The employment situation currently sucks because of a few factors well outside of the realm of gov't.

The GOP has no ideas on how to address this, though I'm sure they'll come up w/ some smoke & mirrors by the time the campaign really kicks in. The Dems got a gift yesterday, because they can portray the GOP as opposing anything that is jobs-related.
