The word of God explicitly says it, in several places, and it's a direct quote from God.... how do you justify not believing that, and still believing God's Word? See..... kind of a catch 22 here... if you don't believe God's word, you can't say you believe God's word.
There is no such thing as a "direct quote from God." There is only what man wrote & claimed was a "direct quote."
There are plenty of Christians who don't believe every single word of the Bible.

I don't think they are. I would wager many Christians don't. There are plenty of Christians who are NT only, and still others who use other texts outside of the Bible. Don't forget the origin of the word "Christian."

did christ abolish the old testament or did he come to fulfill it? i don't know how a christian could be NT only. i understand with regards to the laws that were nailed to the cross or whatever paul was talking about, but you can't ignore the OT.
There are Christians who are NT only, like it or not. And there are those who DO think Christ meant to abolish the OT, but Paul - who is responsible for much of the NT - didn't agree. You CAN ignore the OT and still be a Christian. Who are you to make the rules on what constitutes a "Christian," and what doesn't? What does the OT have to do with Christ?
And you can believe that God wrote the commandments on a tablet. I don't.

Again.... the Muslims also claim that THEIR book is the word of God. Your claim is NO different than theirs. THEY are called BELIEFS for a reason. There is NO factual evidence either way. The Bible is also very detailed about the creation of earth & the cosmos. Would you contend that anyone who believes in the Big Bang theory cannot be a Christian?
