But there has only been one Iraq war. There have been several different campaigns within the war, that have been associated with different titles; but there has only been one war with Iraq and it is still ongoing.
As to the rest of your complaint, they were not necessary for the cessation of the hostilities.
I noticed that you have completely ignored every one of Saddam's violations.
Why is that?
And since you were able to find this, then you should also be able to find the definition of a cease fire and what it entails.
Here's a hint: A cease fire is not a peace treaty.
Lack of hostilities for 12 continous years indicayes to me that for those 12 years we were not at war.

There have been highly publicized reports of enemy forces during WW I, where forces stopped fighting and exchanged "Christmas gifts". Are you trying to say that those ceasefires continued until a peace treaty was signed.
