The double-edged sword is "The Word"... Basically he uses scripture to defeat his enemies. Some Christians are dangerously undereducated as to the meaning behind the scripture.

some of the teachings of islam are definitely barbaric. the same could be said for some OT text. i believe there are people both good and bad in each religion, so constantly pointing out the failings of some followers is a shallow attempt at explaining why the religion itself is barbaric or not good. the quran definitely has violent suras calling people to action. that is different from the NT, however, could be comparable in a sense to the OT.

You speak against an entire group of people who are as varied in their beliefs and lifestyles as Christians. You think you don't hate, but from I stand, you do!

And this is the line we are constantly bombarded with regarding Islam, that the 'radicalism' is merely an 'extreme' element of the religion, and not representative of the overall... that is a lie. It is the case with Christianity, the rare examples of radical fundamentalism are indeed, rare. Where Christians teach 'bearing false witness' is a sin, Mooslems teach Taqiyya... go look it up, idiots.

We are not talking about individuals. Perhaps that is where you're confused. We are talking about doctrines of Islam and Christianity. Unless you have some knowledge of those doctrines, you're not equipped to contribute to the discussion.
