Well, Irene was a hurricane, the flooding was pretty bad in some states, lots of folks don't care what causes the flooding - it's the flooding that matters, and even more folks care about what happens in NYC, since it's the financial & business capitol of the U.S.
So, your batting average in trying to downplay this is kind of low...
Except it wasn't when it hit. But then we can play that game forever. I do remember that there was a week of warning to get out of New Orleans before it hit as well...
I'm glad things worked out and not too many died, but the reality is one was a massive hurricane the other one was but then was downgraded then hit...

The idea that a city situated in a bowl hit by a hurricane and a city above sea level hit by a tropical storm should be equivalent is only problematic for people who want desperately to show that Obama was barely more effective than the man they believe to be the "worst President in history" (wait, I should have said pResident as the left was wont to do back then).
