sounds like a bunch of money wasted. I haven't read anything where FEMA was responsive and if all Obama did was cut a vaca short and monitor, then he really didn't do anything to handle it, did he?

looks to me like it's a bunch of liberal blowhards sucking up and praising Obama for absolutely nothing at all.

I have criticized those guys. But they weren't my officials at the time, and I hold POTUS to a much higher standard than local idiots. Oh - and this thread is about the contrast between 2 Presidents.

Have you been taking Yurt lessons or something?

you haven't said anything but "it is bush's fault". you haven't once in this thread said bush did something right and i don't recall you ever saying bush did anything right. you don't blame nagin or blanco unless you get called out, then you give lip service to it and immediately go back and put the bulk, if not all, the blame on bush. you lied when you claimed he wasn't monitoring katrina.

i know you get very upset when your bullshit gets called.

Why would I say Bush did something right on this thread? He totally botched Katrina from a leadership perspective. Are you in the habit of saying that someone did something right when they completely botch something?

And again - this thread compares 2 Presidents. If you want to start a thread comparing Nagin to the mayor of Ocean City, have at it.

in order to have an honest discussion about bush's fault, you cannot leave out the mayor and governor. bush did not botch katrina, he made some mistakes, but not as bad as you far left wing wackos want people to believe. it is why you so desperately want to avoid talking about nagin and blanco. nagin bears the brunt of criticism. my hunch is you didn't click the factcheck link, that way you can continue to live in a deluded a world.

Like I said, have at it if you want to start a thread about Nagin. He had a completely different role than Bush in the crisis, and botched his role completely & utterly.

But, this thread is about the comparison between the 2 Presidents. The President is the last line of leadership; he has a big role during a crisis like Katrina. Bush said the Feds were ready the day before, and they weren't. He was slow to react & respond. He appointed a crony to head up FEMA, and that agency was widely criticized during Katrina.

A mayor failing is one thing; a President failing is quite another. You don't have any sense of scale, but it doesn't matter - this thread is comparing Bush w/ Obama.

It would be nice if just one of them could explain how Obama was able to get the entire broadcast media FROM COAST TO COAST to go along with him while carrying out SF's ridiculous claim...I know it will wind up being some "extension/offshoot" of the whole "liberal media" lie they can't let go of, and I look forward to laughing long and hard at their stupidity.

pardon me for not being exact on the statement, but it's difficult for me to accept that you hold POTUS to a higher standard yet excuse or condone Obama continuing some of the worst Bush policies and then claiming that he hasn't.

Too bad I haven't done that. Man, do you have to stop putting words in people's mouths.

"Every" was a pretty crucial difference in your original question; and I answered it - he hasn't continued "every" policy, and even on the ones he has continued, he has modified the policy more than you will allot.

And I have criticized him vehemently on things like Afghanistan. I never criticized Bush for the Patriot Act, and haven't criticized Obama either, so I've been consistent on that (I know that's a big issue w/ you, but we're talking consistency here). I have criticized Obama for Gitmo.

BTW, this thread does not say Katrina was Bush's fault. I was just comparing how engaged President Obama is with how unengaged Bush was.
