United States recognizes Libya rebels

(Reuters) - Rebel leaders won recognition as the legitimate government of Libya from the United States and other world powers on Friday in a major boost to the rebels' faltering campaign to oust Muammar Gaddafi.

However, the United States and Japan acknowledge rather than recognize the PRC position that Taiwan is part of China.

Well we are supporting them militarily and I'll assume we'll begin trading with them once they win.

We supported/recognized Taiwan as the "Real China" for a time after the Chinese nationals under Chiang Kai-shek lost to the Chinese Communists under Mao Zedong, so it was more that the "Rightful Chinese government" was in exile from our view rather then nobody in the US being able to read a map
