Most Republicans decree that marijuana should be illegal

I oppose 'legalization' but support 'decriminalization'. I think there are too many problems and potential risks to marketing and selling it like cigarettes and tobacco, and it should never be sold over the counter. However, I think we are spending a TON of taxpayer money to prosecute and lock up pot heads. Make it where it's not against the law to be in possession of up to a certain amount... maybe a couple of ounces or so... and growing it for personal use... up to so many plants or whatever... but leave in place, the laws against distribution, dealing, commercialization, transporting, possession by a minor, or driving under the influence of... etc.

What will happen to the law enforcement, justice/legal/court and prison industries if they have no marijuana crimes to investigate, enforce, prosecute, and punish?

More layoffs....

Well I don't know... wouldn't the same thing result from legalization? Seems your logic here is a bit flawed, isn't it?

I think the cops would find plenty to do, what with all the METH HEADS slinging crystal these days.

That just goes to show you the pinhead can't put two concepts like that together....actions that lead to certain consequences and outcomes are much too advanced for his pin head.....

Where are the jobs in your proposals?

They can enjoy paying lower taxes, and they can get a job.

Can you explain how lower income taxes benefit people with no fucking jobs?

After the GOP ruins America's credit rating by defaulting on the debt, cuts the government, cuts contributions to the states and cities, cuts unemployment benefits, and cuts taxes for the rich and corporations, where will the unemployed go to find work?

Let me guess.

You don't care?

You're right. Being honest, I don't care about people who terrorize families all over this country. Let them eat cake.

I don't look at the debt the same way you do. The dems and reps have promised things that they can never keep giving. Everything the dems and the reps have done the last several decades have set us up for a rough ride, and it's not going to get any better in my eyes. We will default on the debt, and the reps or dems will never do the things needed to lessen the hurt. Suggesting steps to take to get us on track will not gain any favor from you so I won't even try. If you want a detailed plan of what I think we should do, start listening to Ron Paul. Go to his website and look at what he has to say about many issues.

Knowing that you won't agree, keep in mind that your solution is nothing more than what got us here.

Opportunities create jobs. Restricting opportunity is a job killer.

So you advocate a return to the gold standard as the cure for our economy?

Except apparently all other positions are jobkillers, right Legion?

I support full legalization, which would technically create jobs in production, transportation, marketing/sales, etc...

Conservatives have supported prohibition in all its forms. They are afraid of change, hate the idea that people might actually have fun and NOT break any laws getting drunk or high. Prohibition in the 20's created a powerful and well funded mafia. Before that they were two bit protection racketeers and numbers runners. Prohibition of alcohol gave them teeth and the means to keep them sharp. Move forward half a century and we see that the war on drugs created the Cartels. First the cocaine cartels in Columbia and later the marijuana cartels in Mexico. History has repeated itself.

I think it's funny to see Republicans calling for legalization when most of their own party are against it.

Don't forget.. ambulance drivers, EMTs, and paramedics. We'll need them to take care of the people who got stoned and caused a wreck on the highway, or fell into a machine.

Yes, must be at least 6.8 million marijuana-related deaths and injuries per year, right Dix-lie?
