Actually Bevis, this is not true according to Butthead's source. 53% of Democrats favor legalization, and 47% don't... which is within the margin of error of 50/50.. a statistical tie. Half the democrats favor it and half don't. A rather large majority of democrats who don't are moderate and conservative. The 'spineless dems' who voted against it, probably followed the will of their constituents, don't you think? A politician's first and foremost reason for voting a particular way, is to get re-elected. They are afraid of moderate and conservative democrats getting angry, and not voting for them.

Wow... talk about a backhanded compliment. Thanks for acknowledging decriminalization is better than what we have now.
