Apparently, THIS is who we are now!

There will be those who demand the long form of his renunciation, don't you know.

I believe we should have had a special task force go in after Saddam and save ourselves from a war. I have said this since 1990. It would have saved a lot of lives and a lot of money.

Except we would have to do it Mafia-style and execute his whole family, or Uday and Qusay would be terrorizing the people just the same as Daddy.

I just wish I had known how liberals really felt 10 years ago, we could've built some gas chambers at Gitmo!

Oh, take it easy Dixie, you would have loved this if it hadn't been Obama, but Wild West Bush...GITMO could have been done differently in so many ways, like not offering a reward for prisoners in Afghanistan.

And if Bush had been running around ordering hits on American citizens, what would YOU have said about that???

Hey, maybe I should try liberal convoluted thinking myself? All of this bluster over the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer... it's easy to fix if you think convoluted like a liberal... we just execute anyone who makes less than $40k a year... that takes care of the problem, right?

First you have to declare them terrorists and revoke their citizenship. Apparently that just takes standing behind a lectern and saying so.

Does he have family? Have they committed acts of war against the USA?

You don't think his actions have done that? Does he travel on an USA passport? I know you were just trying to be funny, but what do you really think about this behind your sarcasm and yes, the attorney general can change his status as a citizen for his acts of war against the USA, but you as an educated man, know this, right.

Do you think he is a citizen of the USA? If he isn't, do you think we have the legal right to go after him?

In the 1800's the government put up wanted dead or alive posters all over the place. A lot of people made a fortune killing bank robbers for the government.

Was he given a trial where he was found guilty of committing acts of war against America? I'm speaking retrospectively and theoretically here... Saddam is dead, his sons are dead... it doesn't matter now. You're talking about what we SHOULD have done, and I don't totally disagree, I would have much rather gone in with a hit squad and took him out, but then you have to look at what would have happened afterward... you think that would've gone over well with the Arab Street? What about the Baath Regime, and his sons? They were more deranged than Daddy! Would we have simply opened a bigger can of worms? Would 50 million people have been liberated?

Well, according to what we have actually done we have every right to treat even US citizens like subjects, let alone somebody declared "not" a Citizen by whatever person we give that power to... (apparently the fact that the Constitution says only Congress has power over citizenship makes no bones nowadays).

Even the Constitution doesn't speak to this subject, it says traitors are bad and should be killed if they are convicted. Apparently that need not count any longer because the AG can just single-handedly declare you "non-citizen" and send in a firing squad without a trial.

Tell me, what do you think about what is being done in your name? Is it okay now that Obama is President? If I didn't like it when Bush was President what makes it different for me now?

In the early 1800s black people only counted as 3/5ths of a person. Things change, catch up.

It's an odd time to be making THAT distinction, isn't it? I mean, how many Gitmo detainees are American citizens?

None, but they were taken prisoners, some of the sold to us. We can not now just dispose of them. A kill order on a known enemy to me is different than what happened with GITMO. There is a difference.

I do not know what discoveries were made to order this kill on Al A, I do not see him coming peaceably. I don't see how it is any different than going after bin Laden, to me, they are birds of a feather and if Al A was once a citizen, to me, he isn't one now.

How do you know they were innocent? Did they get a trial? Why is it okay for us to go do a hit on one bad guy, but not a few thousand bad guys?

A good many of them were children and very old people, they were innocent citizens of Iraq, now you have crossed into being ridiculous and this is where our "debate" ends. What a stupid question, how do i know they were innocent...sheesh!

No, you are actually WRONG there... When Clinton bombed them with cruise missiles, indeed, hundreds of innocent old people and children were killed indiscriminately. The whole point of putting boots on the ground in Iraq, was to LIBERATE those people, and FREE them from the subjugation of Saddam. We did that, and we had far less collateral damage and death of innocent people, than ANY military operation we've EVER encountered. Don't you remember Falujah? We went door-to-door, ferreting out the scum and killing them, while sparing the innocents! It cost us American lives, but Bush felt it was worth it to not kill innocent people.
