What our diligent guntards couldn't find:

http://www.norc.org/projects/General+Social+Survey.htm

Took me all of 2.5 minutes.

From your link: "10 How many people are interviewed for each GSS?
From 1972 until 1993, the GSS was administered almost annually. The target sample size for the annual surveys was 1500; actual sample sizes ranged between 1372 (1990) and 1613 (1972). Additionally, there were oversamples of black respondents in 1982 (oversample of 354) and 1987 (oversample of 353). There were no GSSs in 1979, 1981, or 1992. "

They interviewed 1500 people and want to say they managed a representative cross-sample of the USA? lmao

Ok, there is a perfect example of why I like to look at the sources of the data.

Why am I not surprised that you seem unwilling to conduct a simple Google search to find out about the survey yourself?

NORC is an arm of the virulent anti-gun rights Joyce Foundation and is not an independent, unbiased source of information.

That must explain why gun rights advocates like to quote their surveys when the results are more, shall we say...pleasing?

Gun rights advocates citethe use of firearms for self-protection and to deter ...... "GSS Cumulative Data Set (1972-2004)". http://gss.norc.org/. ....

Umm where do gun rights advocates cite the GSS positively?

I must have missed the text that identifies NORC as "an arm of the virulent anti-gun rights Joyce Foundation" and " not an independent, unbiased source of information."

Where is it?
Under sponsors. The Joyce Foundation is listed, and if you google the Joyce Foundation, or spend any amount of time studying them, you'll also see that they spend literally millions in contributions to anti-freedom groups like the VPC and Brady Campaign.

Ahhh wonderful argument. Clearly indicative of the intellectual superiority of your position. Please, continue to enlighten us with your brilliance.
Why would you demand better quality posts from others then those you choose to write yourself?

If I was the one challenging the NORC/UOC study, that is.

But I'm not.
You asked for evidence, but when others have asked you for the same, you act as though it's some sort of incredible bother for you to back up your own assertions when asked. I have not.

That makes them "an arm" and invalidates all their work?
